Former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar, has listed the kind of leaders Nigeria needs ahead of the general elections in the country.
The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the 2019 Presidential election said the nation needs leaders that can bring about the unity of the entire country.
Atiku further stated that things in the country will turn out for the better under a leader that would unify and promote peace.
He stated this while speaking at the 70th birthday lecture of Raymond Aleogho Dokpesi, with the theme: “Technology: A Missing Link in Nigeria’s Development.”
According to the former Vice President, Nigeria needs a leader that can restructure the country and reform the economy.
He said, “Nigeria needs a leadership that can unify the country, bring stability, restructure the country, reform the economy and bring about cohesion to the nation.”
Meanwhile, the Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, on Thursday revealed that Atiku, the Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal and his Bauchi State counterpart, Bala Mohammed has indicated an interest in contesting the 2023 presidential election.
Makinde disclosed this during an interview with Channels TV where he expressed confidence in the ability of the PDP to win the 2023 presidential election.
