The wise saying that a golden fish has no hiding place in the ocean cannot be more truer than now. Again, the governor of Enugu state, also known as Gburu-Gburu is trending and for the right reasons too. Those who have followed Ugwuanyi’s antecedents and trajectories since he hit political limelight would readily attest to the fact that scaling new heights every now and then has equally become a second nature to him. For one, passion for leadership has its own positive rewards. No one would ever be in doubt that governor Ugwuanyi’s passionate disposition towards the governance of the people remained unmatched in our contemporary society. Sure, like the moon, Ugwuanyi’s terrestrial light is shining forth for all to see and enjoy. Like the gold, Ugwuanyi has been prized for his shining and enigmatic excellence in leadership. Like the gold, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has become highly malleable in all ramifications with a capacity that befuddles even his worst of critics.
Like the proverbial golden fish without a place to dock in a whole wide ocean, Gburu-Gburu living true to his calling has continued to be sought after to bring in his wealth of knowledge in the resolution of most political issues. Not too long ago, when the Executive Governor of Ebonyi state, Engr. David Umahi decided to quit PDP, the political party that brought him to power, he was at the material time the Chairman of the PDP governors forum in the South East region, but the party did not look farther away to select a successor to replace Umahi immediately. The mantle of leadership fell on Governor Ugwuanyi. While that replacement had hardly settled down, the Peoples Democratic Party in the South East Zone again found Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi worthy to be the leader of the party in the zone. Today, the Peoples Democratic Party in the South East Zone is not only waxing stronger under the headship of governor Ugwuanyi who has obviously affected the entire flanks of the party stalwarts with an uncommon and positive energy, the PDP as a political party has remained hopeful in the entire South East to have more states in its grasp when the on coming 2023 general elections are concluded.
Regrettably, a part does not always translate into a whole. While, the PDP South East region might be enjoying relative peace and harmony courtesy of the political sagacity of it’s leader, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, the same cannot be said of the national caucus of the party. The party has continued to witness humongous disruptions within its general flanks leading to mass defections of some leading lights of the party. As if that is not enough, the national leadership became engulfed in a crisis of confidence leading to calls for the Chairman of the party, Chief Uche Secondus to step aside. While the Chairman battled for the soul of the party, it became obvious to him that he was fighting a losing battle largely seen in the political circles as some battle of wits. Understandably, 2023 general elections is just by the corner and who gets what in the political permutations must trigger some kind of crisis. Yet, even in the midst of all these political maneuvering, confusions and crisis as a result of 2023 general elections, the party leadership took counsel and set up two important committees that would fast track and reposition PDP as a party to beat in the next General elections.
Particularly interesting is the appointment of Gburu-Gburu by the party leadership to head one of the most important Committee on zoning of political appointments. It is interesting, because all eyes are now trained on Ugwuanyi to see how he would pull through with his Committee on zoning of political appointments to different regions of the country especially as the same issue of zoning is still on the front burner in his own state. Political pundits might have considered his headship of the zoning committee as a tricky one. Firstly, governor Ugwuanyi happen to come from the zone who has clamored to have a shot at the Presidency for quite some time. Secondly, governor Ugwuanyi is being touted to be the preferred candidate should the PDP decide to zone the Presidency position to the South East. So expectations are high from Ugwuanyi’s committee to deliver on the assigned role perfectly and positively, because the performances of the PDP in the 2023 general elections would be largely dependent on the outcome of Ugwuanyi’s led committee.
Deriving from Gburugburu’s antecedents once more, PDP and the people who look up to Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi would be rest assured that las las, every section of the country would benefit from Ugwuanyi’s political sagacity and politics of inclusiveness. Already, the PDP Spokesperson have already given indication to the fact that the National Executive Committee (NEC) can only decide its zoning formulae after Gov. Ugwuanyi’s zoning committee has sent in its report to the organ for further deliberations on the matter.
Again, it is important to stress the fact that, governor Ugwuanyi led committee would work assiduously to ensure that all relevant sections of the country as well as critical stakeholders of the party receive a fair share of the zoning arrangements to engender greater peace and harmony within the party fold which would translate to better performance of the party in the next General elections and beyond. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, the only Gburu-Gburu we know hold that ace to crystallize the confidence of the party stakeholders. He is that shining metal that would once again unleash his beauty, talent and treasure to galvanize quick win for his party even as it prepares for its convention between the 30th and 31st of October, 2021 to reposition for 2023 general elections proper.
With Gov. Ifeanyichukwu Ugwuanyi, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is surely in the hands of God.
Bibian Anekwe News added – “Power isn’t control at all–power is strength, and giving that strength to others. A leader isn’t someone who forces others to make him stronger; a leader is someone willing to give his strength to others that they may have the strength to stand on their own.” Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi is the answer” .
