The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has revealed that its presidential candidate for the 2023 general elections will emerge on May 29, 2022.
Bibian Anekwe News reports that the ‘Schedule of Activities and Timetable for the Year 2022/2023 Elections’ was released by PDP on Wednesday.
The National Organising Secretary of the party, Umar Bature, who signed the timetable disclosed that the PDP candidate would emerge on May 29 at the end of the Special National Convention (Presidential Primary) that would start on May 28.
The party, however, did not state whether it has agreed on a consensus candidate or whether it has zoned the ticket to any geopolitical zone.
It would be recalled that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Wednesday fixed N40 million as the cost for its presidential candidates to obtain form.
Bibian Anekwe News reports that while expression of Interest form is put at N5 million, the Nomination Form is put at N35 million.
According to the PDP, it was approved at the 95th National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party which held on Wednesday in Abuja.
Those eyeing the governorship ticket will purchase the Expression of Interest form for N1 million while Nomination Form is N20 million.
For Senate, the Expression of Interest is N500,000 while Nomination Form is put at N3 million.
The House of Representatives, Expression of Interest is N500,000 while Nomination Form is N2 million.
All youthful aspirants would enjoy a 50 per cent reduction of the payment for various positions.
