Situations and circumstances will always determine the kind of solution to apply, the right kind or quality of resources both material and human to deploy towards solving the given problem. The Nigeria as we know it today is in tethers while it’s very fabric is being threatened on all fours. The widening spates of insecurity, collapsed economy, wide scale hostility, disunity, jeerinc poverty and lack have actually combined to aggravate the nation’s woes. Political pundits, intellectuals, traditional rulers and patriotic stakeholders have been at cross roads in recent time as the curtain draws to a palpitating close on the current occupant of the Aso Rock haven while meditating on the right person to occupy the Aso Rock in 2023 to fix the litany of socioeconomic and politcal mishaps bedevilling the nation.

Honest appraisers across the country have looked at the track records of our current crop of leaders and governors to pick a fitting statesman who can unite us and save the country. As 2023 beckons, men and women of goodwill are anxiously pointing in the direction of the humble white lion and the good leader of Enugu State, Rt. Honorable Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi. It is really not surprising. Ugwuanyi remains the quintessential leader and a confirmed bridge builder of our time.

Political watchers believe that he can bring to the centre his towering credentials to enthrone peaceful coexistence for all Nigerians. Fostering peace and unity among the people is his forte in governance. Having maintained serene peaceful atmosphere in Enugu in and out of season, bagging the fitting title “Eze Udo” (Ambassador of Peace), it is only an Ugwuanyi presidency that will restore sanity and security of lives and property in our land.

“By their fruits we shall know them” confirms the holy writ. Ndi Enugu have been sleeping with both eyes closed since Ugwuanyi mounted the saddle. The pro-Ugwuanyi presidency advocates are only soliciting for him to come to the centre and replicate his signature peaceful regime in Enugu.

“One’s philosophy is not best expressed in words it is expressed in the choices one makes… and the choices we make are ultimately our responsibility” so said Eleanor Roosevelt.

Gov. Ugwuanyi has maximum respect for peoples electoral mandate. Like Adrian Cronauer, he believed that “our nation is built on the bedrock principle that governments derive their just powers from the consent of the governed.”

He leads from the front. His promises are not for words only, he effortlessly expresses them in deeds and actions.

He is an anchorage of love and brotherly affection among people of all tribes. Like the nationalists of our independence would say: “Though tribes and tongues may differ, in brotherhood we stand.” He maintains both inter and intra party cohesion. A true leader!

His legacy of presiding over a thriving economy that made Enugu the best destinations for investors is reproducible at the national level if he would heed the voice of the people and run for the president of our dear country.

Latin nuggeted that “nemo dat quod non habet” (nobody gives what he don’t have). Ugwuanyi can readily give what he has: economic prosperity, national unity of purpose, security of lives and property, and integral development of our land.

What else do we ask for in a President? May reason prevail and may our people keep throwing their support to him for a better Nigeria.
