Nigerian human rights activist, Omoyele Sowore has declared his intention to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.
Sowore, who declared his presidential ambition on Facebook on Tuesday, is set to fly the flag of the African Action Congress (AAC).

“SOWORE FOR President,” the online newspaper publisher wrote.
Bibian Anekwe News reports that Sowore was AAC’s presidential candidate in the 2019 election but lost the election to President Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Recall that Sowore had denied ever campaigning for Muhammadu Buhari to become the President of Nigeria.

Sowore said anyone accusing him of campaigning for Buhari should provide the evidence.
He made the denial during an interview with Punch published on Sunday where he was asked a question on why he and some others campaigned for Buhari to become the President of Nigeria in 2015.

In his response, however, the activist denied the allegation and challenged anyone who believes he campaigned for Buhari to make the evidence public.

He had said: “That is not correct. If you or anyone could provide just one evidence of where I appear in a campaign for Buhari, either a video, or where I spoke on radio, wrote an article, granted an interview, or engaged in any of the processes that could be regarded as a campaign – where I campaigned for Buhari, please, publish it as a journalist.”
