“He who goes to Equity must go with clean hands” This is a time tested aphorism which has often emphasized the importance of being morally upright to be able to counsel others in the ways of morality and integrity. The good Book in Matthew 7:5 has one of the most unpleasant remarks for moral pretenders and I quote… “You hypocrite! First remove the beam in your own eye and then you can see clearly to remove the speck out of your brother’s eye”
This short Bible passage above clearly situates the recent verbal diarrhea of Barrister Ugochukwu Agballah on live Radio where he labored to denigrate the PDP gubernatorial flag bearer in Enugu State, Hon. Dr. Peter Mbah. What Ugochukwu Agballah clearly demonstrated was that of a hypocrite who has a big beam in his own eyes and rather than purge himself of his immoral slum labored in vain to pontificate on what he has not to offer. Finally, the hen has come home to roost. The preacher of equity and fairness is rather conditioned in the witness box to answer to the acts of malfeasance and sleeze while holding forth as the Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Enugu State. Barrister Agballah it was reported to have been involved in a barefaced fraudulent activities within his party. His indulgence in acts of impunity, inequity and unfairness is gradually coming out in the open making one to shudder at the mere thought of that. In reality, there is a world of difference between appearance and reality.
How would a naive spectator or audience in this theater of a highly competitive political firmament imagine that Barrister Ugochukwu Agballah who struggled persistently but woefully to discredit the stainless gubernatorial hopeful of the People’s Democratic Party in Enugu State, Hon. Dr. Peter Mbah and the formidable Ebeano political dynasty was simultaneously siphoning and embezzling hundreds of million naira and other treasures belonging to his fledgling APC?
Any political novice who had listened to the doctored rantings of Barrister Ugochukwu Agballah against the People’s favorite ; Dr. Peter and his political allies on the Urban Radio would think he had any good intentions to deliver but no matter how long the truth travels, it shall always get to its destination as the truth about Agballah’s desperation to loot the treasures of the state once granted access to the corridors of power has been revealed through his management of the funds of the Enugu State APC. To add salt to injury, Barrister Agballah instead of submitting himself to public scrutiny by defending all the allegations leveled against him by his fellow party men and women, suddenly goes underground in a bid to wish such sensitive issues away.
As rival political parties in Enugu State intensify their campaign to persuade and influence the voting population to their sides, Barrister, Ugochukwu Agballah only succeeds in making mockery of All Progressives Congress (APC) by plunging the party into a financial crisis that is likely going to bring the party to its knees in the state in the nearest future if timely measures are not taken to halt the style of a man headed for self destruct.
In inference, as rival political parties drown in their self-inflicted miseries, the rational Enugu State electorates are advised to be more vigilant, investigative and objective in making their choice with regards to who takes over from the People’s Governor ; His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Dr. Ifeanyi Lawrence Ugwuanyi come 2023 and resist being swayed by rehearsed falsehood of political players seeking to embezzle public funds by hook or crook. The Enugu State electorates should know that Hon.Dr. Peter Mba’s crew is unrivaled in all ramifications, therefore, we would happily go to the polling booth, assured that Hon. Dr Peter Mba is our best choice and our incoming governor of Enugu State because OUR TOMORROW IS HERE.
Enugu State is in the Hands of God.
