It was the great George Washington Carver who repeatedly emphasized that “where there is no vision, there is no hope” while Warren Bennis, another great social philosopher avvered that “leadership is the ability to translate vision into reality”. It is not just enough to envision, every individual must articulate such road map as to transform such vision to reality. Since the emergence of our brand new Governor, he has not just been reechoing his vision to transform the coal city state better than he met but has stepped his foot on the accelerator pedal, leaving Ndi Enugu in no doubt about his mission to accomplish his visions.
His Excellency, Dr. Peter Mbah just like the intellectual Dalai Lama is much sentient of the gospel that “in order to carry positive action, we must develop here, a positive vision” and the governor’s recent visit to Aso Rock for a brief consultation with the new president of the country, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is a bold indication that Dr. Peter Mbah truly appreciates the treasured leadership nugget of Dinesh Paliwal that ” Collaboration is a key part of any organization, executed through a clearly defined vision and mission and based on transparency and constant communication.”
His Excellency, Dr. Peter Mbah re-articulating his vision for the good people of Enugu State after his engagement with the President, acknowledged that his government have chosen the federal government as a ” core partner ” in his mission to deliver the social contract his government has with Ndi Enugu, part of which is to grow the state’s economy from it’s current level to the tune of thirty billion dollars – economy. With a clear understanding of what it entails to actualize such massive visions within the space of his first four years, His Excellency, Dr. Peter Mbah also understands the elementary essence of partnering with the federal government in order to realize his dreams with less stress.
It is part of the choice orientations of Governor Peter Mbah’s new administration that such robust rapport and partnership with the federal government will eventually help the peaceful people of Enugu State to transform the untapped huge mineral deposits available within the state’s geographic boundaries into immense productivity. Same collaboration it is also hoped would crystallize the emergence of a transcendental infrastructural and architectural masterpieces just as we have in places like Dubai, Qatar, China, America and other developed economies of the world.
With a rapt awareness that “… one of the core indicators of doing business with ease is security”, His Excellency, Dr. Peter Mbah has taken some courageous steps to address the centrality of the security issue in order to create the necessary enabling environment for the actualization of the tremendous potentials embedded in his vast array of promises proposed to be driven by the private sector in a transparent engagement with the government and its agencies.
In a momentary mental reflections, I pause to chew the reverberating words of the celebrated Herb Caen when he said that a “… city is not guaged by its length and width, but by the broadness of its vision and the height of its dreams” and I take refuge in my awareness of the repository of epic vision defining and driving the current government of Enugu State led by the cerebral Gov. Peter Mbah and his sound team of leaders as they exhaust their possibilities to ensure that OUR envisioned TOMORROW comes closer, sooner than expected.
OUR TOMORROW IS HERE.
Long Live, His Excellency, Dr. Peter Mba.
The Executive Governor, Enugu State.
Long Live the Good People of Enugu State.
