In less than 30 days in office as a Governor, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah’s administration have really endeared itself to not quite a few citizens of Enugu State through a steady but planned strategy to actualize the disruptive innovations he promised Ndi Enugu on the 29th of May, 2023. I am excited and I am so sure not quite a few would be as well watching our new Governor dwelling less in rhetoric. His penchant to bring to fruition a time lined development within his first 180 days in office is quite unprecedented. Like a typical voyager, Barrister Peter Mba, has characteristically placed his pair of binoculars to his eyes to enable him bring his vision closer.
It must be pointed out that my personal fascination towards Dr. Mbah took its root from the means and manner in which he has remained focused since his inauguration despite the pressure of contestation of his election in the governorship election tribunal by the opposition candidate. Dr. Mbah have had to break the ice ever since while making conscious effort to fulfill his campaign promises and other service compact with the people. No single day passes without Mbah being in the news and for the right reasons. Dr. Ndubusi Mbah must have belonged to a different specie of the political class who believe albeit erroneously that the end justifies the means. In this instance, politicians are known to speak from the two sides of their mouth. They are known to abandon goals not necessarily because they lacked will, but pressures of political hangers on and penchant to swim in hubris once they gain office are some of the negativity that have slowed down an otherwise a good leader.

While it may be too early in the day to critically appraise the direction of Dr. Peter Mbah’s administration visavis the sustainability of the current positive direction, one thing is sure. Dr. Mbah know where he is headed and is truly ready to bring our tomorrow closer.

In the piece I wrote on the 31st of May, 2023 titled _*Ndi Enugu ~ Beholden your tomorrow’s descent*_ I have as a concerned citizen admonished our new Governor to not just stop at making heavy promises but should get down to the real deal. Governor Mbah should also do well to remember that his long and eloquent rendition of his government policies have been recorded and would still be opened to him at the end of his first four year tenure in office. His charismatic zeal to fulfill all the promises contained in his road map to “Ndi Enugu’s tomorrow” today or otherwise can only guarantee him a positive or negative place in history. I am certain that Mbah as a man of honor and integrity would like to be remembered on the positive side of history. I have also gone ahead to admonish Governor Mbah to let every of his itemized policy and innovative agenda begin to take shape. Gov. Mbah should work as if his tenure will end in the next couple of hours. Let the tomorrow of Ndi Enugu come today.

It is therefore heart warming to observe that Gov. Mbah is not letting any guard down yet. Just before his first 30 days in office, Gov. Mba have set in motion all the vehicles that will launch Enugu state out in the comity of other economic viable states. The Governor’s recent epoch-making launching of the Enugu State Diaspora And Investment Forum(ES-DIF) designed to attract a minimum of two billion dollars in investment interests within a short period is not only an audacious move from a man who is an entrepreneurial maestro but one who is convinced in the words of the great novelist F. Scott Fitzgerald who says that ideas rules the world and thoughts decide the way of life. It is the mind which sculptures one’s destiny. If one thinks positively and in the right direction, then aspirations and goals are achievable.

Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah is actually eager to bring our tomorrow closer. All the positive engagements he had had to undertake since assuming office points to this direction. With a mindset to reawaken the almost comatose Enugu state economy due largely in part to the activities of non state actors who imposed a pepertual Mondays sit at home, Gov. Mbah immediately embarked on a diplomatic shuttle with the new President in Abuja to demand specifically for the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kalu incarcerated on the orders of the federal government which triggered not quite a few sympathy amongst the people of the South East zone. Governor Mbah has continued to seek out partners that will help grow Enugu state economy in no distant future. Just as the euphoria on the launch of the Enugu State Diaspora And Investment Forum(ES-DIF) is yet to die down he quickly played host to the the British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Richard Montgomery to seek partnership and technical assistance and support in the economic growth of Enugu State from Britain.

I’d like to conclude on this piece by piercing my earlier prediction of Gov. Mba ever before Ndi Enugu thrusted him with the mandate to lead them “…While we wait with bated breath for the forthcoming general election which we all hope will produce another investor maestro in the person of Dr. Barrister Peter Mba, we should equally expect a bigger Enugu tomorrow wrapped around his embrace of entrepreneurial experiences. The CEO of Pinnacle oil and Gas is sure to replicate his experiences in the business world in the management of Enugu State if opportunity is thrusted in his hands to govern Enugu”.

Our tomorrow is already rolling. Your Excellency please move and don’t look back.
