It was an epic and historic event at the Enugu State Lion Building on Saturday, 19th September, 2020 as the EBEANO political family; the platform that produced virtually all the contemporary politicians, bureaucrats and leaders from the Coal City state led by the charismatic Senator Dr. Chimaroke Nnamani trouped en masse to visit the amiable governor of Enugu State, His Excellency (Mr Fulfilment) Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi with his supporters.
As early as 11:am different support groups attired in unique colourful wears with the inscription” EBEANO FOR GBURUS” boldly crested on them were already seated according to their local government areas and several other independent support groups including the widows. As the venue which was heavily secured by security agencies across board became brimming with people and the press men, the atmosphere got charged by the sounds and rythms emerging from different songs, drums , bands and other musical instruments being handled by several talented artists. While several Ogene groups were entertaining people at various corners, the band group took care of the centre stage.
The governor arrived the premises around 1:pm in company of Senator Chimaroke Nnamani along with his entourage was greeted with standing ovation rising to crescendo before calming down gradually. After the major stakeholders took their seats.
After the opening prayer, the stage was taken over by the jolly fellow and intellectual politician; Dr. Frank Nweke Junior who hails from Ozalla in Nkanu West Local Government Area and have served as a minister of Federal Republic of Nigeria regaling the audience with the history and the unforgettable impacts of the great EBEANO political family in Enugu State. He submitted that EBEANO “represents excellence” and “equal opportunity” and described Gburu Gburu as “a man of the people.” Nweke concluded by saying that their intention of organising the event was to once again pledge their loyalty to His Excellency ( Mr Fulfilment) Gov.Ifeanyi Lawrence Ugwuanyi.
Dr. Dan Shere, the former Secretary to the State Government and the coordinator of the event was next to address the audience and sounded loudly the latest slogan of the party in the state which has been changed to:
PDP… EBEANO!
EBEANO… IFEANYI UGWUANYI!
IFEANYI UGWUANYI…NO SHAKING!
Dan Shere then reminded everyone that EBEANO is not a political party but a strong political family that has an “unshakable foundation built on the solid rock of God.” Dan further described Gburu Gburu as a ” humble, humane and peace-loving” soul.
As the occasion rose to climax, Senator Dr. Chimaroke Nnamani ascended the stage in a very dramatic manner and swayed every listener with his characteristic oratory defining politics as ” a serious business” and explaining that the EBEANO political philosophy has to do with the idea of ” applying leverages to balance interest for equal opportunity” before reinstating the fact that the EBEANO family would do everything within their reach to respect the choice of Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi come 2023 for the sustenance of the family’s long drawn ethics.
The chief celebrant of the day; Gburu Gburu himself was the next to speak and started after due recognition of the protocols by reminding everyone that Enugu State is still in the Hands of God before proceeding to acknowledge that God has used the EBEANO political family to help him in the beginning of his” political odyssey” and stated that the solidarity visit “… is a most humbling experience” and challenges his team to reflect deeply and serve Ndi Enugu the more.
His Excellency(Mr Fulfilment) Gov.Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi further emphasized that his re-election as a governor in 2019 “…underscores the quantum of confidence reposed…in the leadership” of his team and assured everyone that he will continue to deliver more democracy dividends to the people before reminding every listening ear that every constituted authority ought to be obeyed as recommended by the scripture.
Other speakers that appreciated the governor for his accommodation and magnanimity includes Hon.Edward Ubosi (Ozege) ; the Honorable Speaker of Enugu State House of Assembly, Rt.Hon Dr. Pat Asadu of the Green Chamber, Mr Martin Chukwubuike; the former Education Commissioner of Enugu State, Chief Ernest Nweze; former chairman of Oji-River Local Government Area and Augustine Nnamani.
And of course as usual the event ended in praise and God took the Glory as everybody safely headed back to his or her home in jubilation and fulfilment.
