Because human ambitions especially political ambitions are like pregnancies which though can be denied AB INITIO but cannot be denied at the long run, and standing on the age-long assertion of the Classic philosopher, Aristotle that every human being is a political animal, it then hardly surprises both the political actors and spectators that despite the fact that the next general election in Enugu State and Nigeria at large is slated to take place in three years to come which is 2023, some politicians who are unable to conceal their intentions or rather ambitions cannot further resist the temptation of heating the polity with their mosquito campaigns thereby generating untimely controversies and tensions.
This brief linguistic construction is therefore poised not just to dispel the falsehood regarding possible divisions in the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) of Enugu State Chapter as a result of some impending , unwholesome and disagreeable political rivalry among politicians in the state but to clarify such speculations as doubtful, unfounded and a mere figment of the imagination of some elements who inadvertently seek for cheap popularity by raising needless dust.
So, after an in-depth and a painstaking investigation, the Director-General of ENUGU DI N’AKA CHUKWU MOVEMENT; a mega support group in GBURUGBURU POLITICAL FAMILY, Hon. Mrs. Bibian Anekwe; the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi on Mobilization and Empowerment wish to use this medium remind the peace-loving people of Enugu State to ignore such fallacious opinion being peddled by some mischief makers that Enugu State PDP has been polarised due to some internal disagreement among party stakeholders concerning the party’s choice of candidates come 2023.
In fact, anyone who is conversant with Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi’s accommodative and peaceful manner of leadership approach in both the distribution of the state resources and in the appointment of qualified people into government offices would not entertain such division equivocation in the first place. Political observers in Enugu State who are aware of the enormity of the effort being invested by the only recognised leader of the state PDP , Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi to foster unity and harmony both in the party and in the state would readily perceive the division rumour as nothing but hollow.
For the avoidance of doubt, it will be nothing less a than herculean assignment destinied to end in futility for anyone to successfully engineer effective division in a state where the governor does not discriminate among religious lines, tribes or party affiliations when dispensing his administrative responsibilities. And for those who take refuge in ignorance ; dishing out disputable political projections, it will be necessary to remind them that Enugu State PDP has a long-established and cherished tradition of power rotation among the three major senatorial districts that make up the state and each time there would be transition to another dispensation, that the outgoing leaders always enjoy some prerogative in the nomination of their successors. It happened during the time of Senator Dr. Chimaroke Nnamani(1999-2007) ; during Barrister Sullivan Chime (2007-2015) and there is no need to debate the sustenance of the tradition come 2023 when Gburu Gburu would hand over the mantle of leadership to another oily head that would continue from where he stopped especially when we consider the gargantuan support that Governor has continued to pool across the boards. Take it or leave it; what will be, will be!
In conclusion, as we pray and wish for the best candidates that would understand the plight of the people; listening to their heart beats at every point in time, to emerge as our leaders in Enugu State come 2023, we should not dissipate our energy deliberating on the apocryphal circumlocution insinuating that there are divisions in Enugu State PDP because Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi’s heart is enough to accommodate and deliver every genuine interest tailored to suit the ethics of the party.
