It is hardly a contestable fact that today’s realities have an inescapable connection with yesterday’s decisions, which serves as the foundation of the opinions of a group of philosophers that believe that life is not a product of chance but design, though no philosophical disposition can stand without corresponding resistance.
Standing firmly on this introductory projection, it becomes incumbent on us to convey to the reading public the recent commendation and applause coming from the management of the innovative Innoson Groups during the lunching of IVM Cruise; an innovative city transport system that would kickstart operation in Enugu state.
The Governor of the Coal City( Mr Fulfilment) was deservedly applauded by the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Innoson Groups; Chief, Dr. Innocent Chukwuma who was represented by the Director of the Board of Innoson Groups, Mr. Alfred Nwosu, for providing enabling environment for the effective growth of business establishments that would essentially affect the viability of the state’s economy.
Dr. Innocent Chukwuma further emphasized that the presence of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi( Mr Fulfilment) in the historic event further solidifies the Governor’s positive predilection towards rapid socio-economic development, job creation and sustainable empowerment.
The Director of the Board of Innoson Group, Mr. Alfred Nwosu, further submitted that the flag-off was “indeed auspicious as it is the realization of our company’s vision to among other things contribute to the financial empowerment of our people while transforming the city transportation system of our beloved Enugu” explaining that the IVM Cruise service “is a unique technology-driven ride hailing service which offers our pilots a good chance of becoming dignified transporters and owners of brand new Innoson Connect Vehicles after an initial period of three years”.
As Gburu Gburu proceeded to launch the concept, he admitted that the idea has the semblance of Uber Technologies, inc. , and Lyft Inc. and would not only add another feather to the transportation system in the state but reduce poverty and unemployment among our teeming youths; at the same time offering opportunity for startups in transportation business, “as the beneficiaries could become owners of the vehicles after initial three years”.
Governor Ugwuanyi ( Mr Fulfilment)in addition explained that city transportation has always been an outstanding feature of his administration and indicated that it recently undertook measures to raise the standards of service delivery in the sector including the employment of Traffic Officers in the State Ministry of Transport for enhanced traffic management in the city and approval for recruitment of additional Vehicle Inspection Officers (VIO).
The governor also added that other plans executed in the state’s transport sector for improvement, include ,the procurement of additional two new vehicle Tow Trucks for managing road obstruction and other rescue operations in the state, purchase of operational Motor Bikes for the Ministry and continuous provision of communication gadgets, uniforms and kits for the operations of the Traffic Officers in the state.
In his words, Gburu declared that he “…proudly reckon that the event of today is a watershed in city transportation in Enugu State…” as he sticks to the “… opportunity to acknowledge the outstanding contributions of Chief (Dr.) Innocent Chukwuma, OFR, Chairman/Chief Executive Officer, Innoson Group of Companies, to the 21st Century industrial revolution in Nigeria.”
In his own speech, the State’s, Commissioner for Transport, Rt. Hon. Matthias Ekweremadu expressed his contentment and joy with the rosy partnership and relationship between the state government and Innoson Group under the administration of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi(Mr Fulfilment)and agreed that the outcome of such situation would go beyond just affecting the face of transport in the state to job creation that is so essential for the survival and growth of our exploding population.
Other dignitaries that graced the occasion include; the State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Augustine Nnamani, Chairman of Enugu State Council of Traditional Rulers, HRH Igwe Amb. Lawrence Agubuzu, Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor, Prof. Malachy Okwueze and other members of the State Executive Council (EXCO), Special Advisers to the council Chairmen led by the State Chairman of ALGON, Hon. Solomon Onah, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Transport, Hon. Ogbons Idike, and his counterpart in the Ministry of Local Government Service Commission, Chief Charles Mbah, among others.
