The Abia State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has asked the former state Governor, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, to stop deceiving the Presidency and his party, All Progressives Congress, (APC) with fake defections.

It was reported that the Senate Chief Whip reportedly received thousands of PDP members into the APC at his country home in Igbere.

But in a statement on Friday in Umaihia, the state capital, state PDP Publicity Secretary, Fabian Nwankwo, asked the former governor to stop massaging “his dwindled ego” before the presidency and the APC at the national level.
The PDP accused the lawmaker representing Abia North senatorial district in the National Assembly of deceit and mischief. The party also Kalu to stop misleading the public with fake defections.

According to the PDP, Kalu’s private residence in Igbere cannot contain more than 50 people at a time not to talk of“thousands of PDP members”.

The party challenged Kalu to make available pictures of the ‘thousands’ of PDP members he purported to have defected to APC in his residence.
It warned the presidency not to allow itself to be hoodwinked by the lawmaker “who is so desperate to please it by hook or crook just to shore up his already battered image”.

The PDP advised Abians to ignore the “charade of Kalu and continue to support Governor Okezie Ikpeazu and PDP in their giant strides in the overall development of Abia”.
