Today, a powerful political pressure group, meet in Enugu, the capital of the southeast states, to endorse the leadership position of governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, as the leader of PDP, Igbo extraction.
The group, in their meeting, which lasted for about 3hours, affirmed their total support and unflinching solidarity to the governor and his purposeful leadership in Enugu state.
Recall that the PDP, Southeast zone, few weeks ago, adopted the governor of Enugu state, Rt. Hon. Dr. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, in a consensus agreement as the new leader of the party in the zone. This was however, sequel to the monumental achievements of his Excellency in infrastructures, human capital development and poverty alleviation programmes which the present administration has embarked on as a panacea for development of the state and her people.
This was the reason this pressure group, on February 14, after evaluating the achievements of the governor and his uncommon stance in reducing the poverty rate of the state to the barest minimum, unanimously adopted the governor as the best performing governor in the southeast, and possibly, the entire South states of the federation, compared to the paucity of funds in our dwindling monthly allocations which was not even enough to pay salaries.
However, this evaluation and adoption of the governor by the group became more imperative for their choice of Gov. Ugwuanyi, as the best performing governor, as evaluated with facts, having toured other states of the federation.
