Shehu Sani Speaks On Kidnap Of Zamfara Schoolgirls

Former Kaduna lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani has reacted to the kidnap of some students of Government Girls Secondary School, Jangebe, Talata-Mafara Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
unknown gunmen stormed the school in the early hours of Friday and abducted a number of students.

This news platform reports that the abductors in their hundreds invaded the school and took away the students at about 2 a.m.

Reacting to the sad incident via his Twitter page on Friday morning, Shehu Sani called out those who were in support of bandits and seeking sympathy for them.

The former lawmaker also described the kidnap of the students as sad and unfortunate, asking the federal government to secure the release of the female students and that of Kagara students.

He wrote: “I spoke with a highly placed official of the Zamfara State Government who confirmed the mass abductions in the Government Girls Jengebe. He said the actual number will be ascertained.

“It’s sad and unfortunate. Every of our daybreak comes with its tragedy. Our clock ticks on horror.

“Those who are spraying fragrances on the feaces of these bandits can now see the futility of their action. Some people want us to call Bandits, artisans.”

Meanwhile, the Zamfara State Government has confirmed the abduction of female students of Government Girls Secondary School, Jangebe in Talata-Mafara Local Government Area of the state.

In a brief interview with newsmen in Gusau on Friday morning, Commissioner of Security and Home Affairs, Alhaji Abubakar Dauran, said the abductors invaded the town and took away the students at about 2am.

The commissioner added that the state government cannot give information on how many students were taken away by the gunmen.

Dauran asserted that the government has already mobilized security men and members of the vigilantatè who are now in pursuit of the abductors.

He said: “I can confirm to you now that we have sadly received the report on the abduction of the students of GGSS Jangebe and right now, I am on my way to the school.

“At this moment, l cannot say how many students were taken away by the gunmen until l get there, but we have already mobilized security men and members of the vigilantatè who are now in pursuit of the abductors.”
