Gunmen Free Father And Son After Receiving N3m Ransom In Edo

Many hours after their abduction, one Mr Godwin Osakwe and his son (17) have regained their freedom.
the victims who are residents of Ahor, a community in Edo State were abducted on Tuesday, March 9 by some yet to be identified gunmen.

They were, however, released on Thursday, March 11 after their family members had gathered and paid N3m ransom. A source who is in full knowledge of the situation confirmed to reporters that both father and son were released after the ransom was paid.

Speaking on another abduction in the state, the Edo State Police Command Public Relations Officer, SP Bello Kontongs, revealed that three people were kidnapped by the gunmen at the National Institute of Construction Technology, Uromi, in the Esan North-East Local Government Area of the state.

Kontongs said the police have launched a manhunt to the criminals, assuring that they will get to them.
He said: β€œIt is true; three persons were kidnapped β€” two students and a staff member. The police are after the kidnappers and we will get them,”

Naija News understands that the unidentified gunmen on Wednesday stormed the school, abducting two students and a lecturer. However, no demand has been made yet by the kidnappers as of the time of filing this report.
