Enugu state was created in 1991 after serving its original status as the capital of the old eastern region. It is on records that the state had produced several governors at any circle of administration both in the era of military junta and the democratically elected governments. In 1999, Enugu started enjoying a true definition of self government and the inclusion of indigenes in the running of affairs of government through a systematic approaches deployed by the successive administrations. But even as that, non of the former administrations in the state has practically taken Enugu to the level of massive development by creating urban cities in the rural areas, except when Ugwuanyi’s administration came on board on 29th May 2015, to drafting rural areas into the scheme of goverbance by giving her a priority recognitions it requires.
Gov. Ugwuanyi’s administration, sought and obtained a well structured approach to mitigate the problems of the rural dwellers through engagement of the state ministry of works and infrastructure in creating access and good road networks to our rural communities. Before Ugwuanyi came on board as a governor, Enugu rural roads were nothing to write home about. Therefore he decries the dilapidated status of the state rural roads and promptly drafted them into a full scale of infrastructural developments and other activities thereto. Today in Enugu, our rural roads has been given a face-lift to compliment the already existing urban structures which his administration has undertaken its continued maintenance and all year motorable conditions.
Enugu rural urban cities creation, an Ugwuanyi’s administration effort to addressing housing deficit and as well decongest the teeming influx of people into the already existing urban. The administration has made a tremendous impact in reshaping the state to meet the dreams of the founding fathers. Part of is the advancement of infrastructures to almost every community in the state. The presence of Ugwuanyi’s administration has virtually been felt by all the 472 autonomous communities in the state.
Therefore, it became obvious that this administration is very visionary and and oriented government, going by the programs and enhancing policies engaged to addresses the yearnings of the people. It will be of great importance to Ndi Enugu to know that the administration of H.E governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has through the managing director and chief executive officer Enugu state housing development cooperation, Hon Chukwuemelie Agu, engaged the people of the state with a low cost of housing units to balance the high rate and cost of living in Enugu. Gov Ugwuanyi has created a good number of low cost of housing units for Ndi Enugu through a standard state government built mini estate in urban and rural areas. Our Education infrastructures, under Gov. Ugwuanyi, receives a high classified boosts in the history of Enugu thereby bringing back the lost glory of the state. This administration has through the office of the chairman ENSUBEB, built and renovated about 2000 schools across the 17 LGAs in the state. The first of its kind. It never happened before since the creation of Enugu in 1991. Aninri LGA alone received in attention a good number of 30 built and renovated primary schools with a modern teaching materials.
Gov. Ugwuanyi has brought back the lost glory of Enugu state, the capital of old eastern region through a massive modification of the urban cities and in addition his transformation of Michael Okpara Square forestry an attractive tourism cite which has recently witnessed an influx of people to the ever busy road in the state capital. The governor’s keen interest to making Enugu the best amongst equal is derived of genuine passion and greater commitment in stabilizing good governance for the people. We therefore thanks God almighty for the gift of Gov. Ugwuanyi to the people of Enugu state.
