To express disappointments, ill-feelings or prejudices are normal. However, to gossip around certain people or events in order to pull another person down and destroy one’s credibility is a form of bullying whether one expresses it publicly or privately.
On Thursday 22nd day of April, 2021 the body polity briddled with upheaval of claims, balusters, inarticulate and demented write ups and statements that has no bearing to the issue on the ground. They furnished the social media plaftorms with restive and tension instigating languages deliberately manufactured by opportunistic warmongers, political pups, pessimists and unpatriotic elements who had intentions to drag our peace loving governor in the mud.
It is important to remind the aforementioned that all their intrigues against our peace loving governor and their ploy to drag his name in the mud will fail. Governor Ugwuanyi’s selfless Leadership, Equity and Justice, Respect for Rule of Law and Entrenchment of Peaceful Co-existence across religious,political and ethnic lines can never be wished away no matter the efforts of his detractors.
It is important to put the issues as it were in their proper perspective. The property in question belongs to the family of HRH, Late Igwe Gabriel Nnaji of Akpugo Nkanu. The current occupier of the land are the livestock traders of northern Nigeria extraction . Their occupation of the property was declared illegal by a court of competent jurisdiction. Consequent upon the order of the court, an effort was made to eject the traders occupying illegally a property belonging to a private citizen.
In good conscience and accommodating spirit of our Ezeudo Gov Ugwuanyi, a resettlement plan was hatched by the State Government with the Hausa Community of New Artisan Market. Fact check revealed that the leadership and entire Hausa Community gladly keyed into and agreed to the resettlement plan. Curiously, the livestock traders threw all the efforts of the Governor back to his face. What a shame!
Unfortunately, this period became a harvest time for different reports. Some reported that it as a fracas between ESN and IPOB, while some told unforgivable lies just to discredit the efforts of our workaholic Governor.
Maintaining and sustaining peace at all levels of human endeavor is quite a difficult and tedious task. A cursory look at the current happenings in Nigeria would tell one that peace, orderliness and tranquility had eluded most organizations, cooperate bodies and communities. Issues of distrust and disharmony have been largely orchestrated by lack of will power to address/handle fragile issues at their premature stages,when they could be easily resolved.
Governor Ugwuanyi had worked assiduously to advance and facilitate an enduring peace and stability in Enugu State. He handles our dear State as a committed and responsible father who would neither sleep nor slumber until the affairs of the family is properly taken care of. The accommodating helmsman, had continued to partner with people of divergent political views and leanings, ethnic nationality and religious make up. All these and more had made all want to identify with our Peace Ambassador, Rt.Hon Ifeanyi Lawrence Ugwuanyi(Gburugburu).
