Since the creation of Enugu State, ndi Enugu unarguably have not had a taste of qualitative leader like Governor Ugwuanyi. Appraising the developmental strides of governor Ugwuanyi in all critical areas for the past 6 years would seem a mountainous task, suffice it to say however that Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has done creditably well and his developmental obsessions can never be overemphasized.
¶ Rural-Urban Renewal.
¶ Security and Education. Jj
¶ Others are youth empowerment.
¶ Agriculture, Healthcare, Judiciary and Peace economy.
Governor Ugwuanyi has constructed and rehabilitated over 650km of roads across the state mostly in rural areas. The following are the signature road projects across the States which include the 11-km Millikin Hill Ngwo/ 9th Mile road, the Ebonyi River Bridge, state of the art 12-km Opi-Nsukka dual carriageway, the 8.8-km Nkalagu/Eha Amufu road in Isi Uzo, 26.66km Ukpabi-Nimbo-Ugbene Ajima/ Eziani road in Isi Uzo, 22.443km Neke/Mbu- Ogbodu Aba-Obollo Etiti inter-community road, 31km Udenu Ring road with two high tech bridges, rehabilitated the Iva Valley roads in Enugu North, Nike lake Junction-Harmony Estate road, Adoration Pilgrimage Center road, 8.2km Inyi-Akpugoeze road in Oji River, the 26. 66km Ituku road in Awgu etc.
It is important to mention that these rural – urban renewal was executed under the Rural Access and Mobility Project (RAMP-2) and spread across all the 17 local government areas of the state.

In the area of security, it is on record that the administration of Ugwuanyi committed so much to the security of Ndi Enugu against terror herdsmen and bandits.
Governor Ugwuanyi reconstituted Neighbourhood Watch in the State and approved a monthly stipend for them with adequate security gadgets needed for their operations. In the height of the Fulani herdsmen senseless killings in some parts of the state, Governor Ugwuanyi became the first Governor in the entire Southern Nigeria to recruit about 1700 Forest Guards with legal backing of the state House of Assembly and placed them on monthly salaries with adequate operational facilities. The later resolution of South East governors to form a comprehensive security apparatichik for the South East region recently bore visible marks of Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi’s models in security intervention. The entire South East would be better for it.
Since the creation of Forest Guards, crimes of varying degrees have drastically reduced because the security outfit provided ample avenue for teeming youths of the State who are unemployed to get engaged in the security job. Gov. Ugwuanyi also provided additional support to the Nigeria Police to boost their morale and ensure easy policing of the state by constructing Mopol 76, Police Mobile Force Squadron facility at Ekwegbe, Igbo-Etiti local Government.

Furthermore, fire has become a regular occurrence in the state especially during dry season which has caused untold hardship to the victims of fire outbreak. As a result of this menace, the current administration embarked on a remedial mode to find a lasting solution and curb fire related incidences in the state especially in market places with the procurement of 5(nos) IVM fire-fighting trucks for the five ultra-modern fire Service stations constructed across the three senatorial districts of the state after 56 years. The administration is equally making efforts to establish firefighting sub-stations across the 17 LGAs in the State.

In the areas of education, the current administration has recruited over 5000 primary and secondary school teachers in the realization of Education as a tool for socio-political emancipation. To ensure that the pupil and students have conducive environment for learning, the administration constructed and renovated 897 classroom blocks and adequately equipped it under the Enugu State Universal Basic Education Board. For the comfort of school children, the administration procured and distributed 22,150 lockers and chairs while 1,228 tables, arm chairs and 2,456 armless chairs for their teachers including 1,130 marker boards for teaching and 1,960 ceiling fans for comfortability of the children. Since Ikeje Asogwa came on board, as the head of ENSUBEB, he has repositioned the education sector and today, our primary and secondary schools are competing with the global world in terms of quality curriculum development, quality of teachers, provision of basic school needs and construction of modern classrooms with well-equipped libraries and labs across the state.

In his bid to revamp our education sector and remodel it to meet up with the international standard, the current administration of Ugwuanyi brought hostels back to life in our secondary schools across the six education zones. Through the efforts of the Post Primary School Management Board (PPSMB) dilapidated hostels were rehabilitated and construction of new ones undertaken to accommodate the ever increasing population of students who now cherish public schools more than private ones unlike what was obtainable in the past. The same PPSMB supplied and installed computers to 200 secondary schools and 135 science equipment. Governor Ugwuanyi as a humanist converted about 1,000 volunteer teachers to permanent staff and released all outstanding arrears of promotion to date. He also initiated the construction of Enugu State University of Education Ihe Awgu which will serve as a training ground for primary, secondary and tertiary teachers. Governor Ugwuanyi offered 680 indigent engineering students of Enugu State Polytechnic, Iwollo and the IMT, Enugu scholarship and awarded 22 indigent students who are presently studying at Mewar University, India scholarship too.

Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi’s visible marks in government since his assumption of office in the last six years have been most heart warming.
Enugu state is truly in the hands of God.
