Like the Biblical Daniel whom God suffused with wisdom and understanding of his visions and dreams, right here in the coal city state, another Daniel has also emerged and blossomed. A ‘Daniel’ is a man with a good understanding of his environment. A Daniel is naturally endowed to flare wise counsel even in the most of difficult situations. A Daniel is a man with vision and who dreams a lot but with a clear understanding of his dreams and visions. And because, God has blessed a Daniel with absolute knowledge and skills in literature and wisdom, he clinged tenaciously to God for an enabling greater grace to do more exploits. Shall we ponder then to appreciate that God rules in the affairs of men and that is why another Daniel has handed over Enugu State to God’s direction and guidance.
As a man with a clear vision and understanding of his mission in government, Rt. Honorable Ifeanyi Lawrence Ugwuanyi wasted no time in environmental scanning to articulate and prioritize this mission. Though, his visions may come in quadruples, he adopted more than a decuplian approach to tackle them. Ugwuanyi is a Daniel who tackles his mission with so much gusto and verve. The much touted first Enugu fly over bridge aside other numerous ongoing state projects brings this assertion closer home. For a man who is already in the twilight of his tenure as a Chief Executive Officer of a state, it is inconceivable to observe a political leader who is no longer interested in appropriating state resources for himself and cronies but firing projects on all fronts as if it is going out of fashion and yet, in the face of the dwindling economic resources in the land.
Reacting to what he described as exceptional leadership style unequaled in contemporary times, veteran Nollywood actor and media Practitioner, Pete Edochie was excited to express his genuine feelings of love and an endorsement on a governor who has made tremendous strides in infrastructural development in spite of the nation’s economic challenges and state’s lean resources when he made an unscheduled assessment of the ongoing flyover bridge project at T-Junction, Nike Lake Road, Enugu. Chief Edochie was confident that the fly over bridge would be completed in good time as promised by the governor adding that the governor’s constant and unscheduled supervision of the Project and many others to ensure compliance to standards and schedules have kept both the contractors and the workers on their toes.
Ugwuanyi must be indeed an exceptional political leader who do not just award projects to contractors, but takes it very seriously to ensure that the projects are not only delivered but timely, thus giving less room for abandoned projects which characterized successive administration in Nigeria, Chief Edochie concluded. This commendation is really heart warming and only confirms that ‘Daniel’ which Gburu-Gburu of Enugu State has become. May God remain his strength and his joy! Iseeeee!
