‘We Are Not Black Axe’ – NBM Denies ‘Aiye Cult’ Members That Brutalized Tik Tok User In Benin [Photo]

The Neo Black Movement of Africa (NBM) has dismissed reports that its members carried out an attack on a social media influencer for purportedly using its ‘slangs’ in a viral Tik Tok video.
Bibian Anekwe News recalls that some individuals suspected to be members of the NBM, popularly called Aiye, were seen a now viral video dehumanising the tiktoker.

The Aiye cultists, who reportedly abducted the girl from her place of work in Benin, Edo State, were seen beating up the young lady while questioning her.
In a statement to newsmen on Friday, the Command’s spokesman, SP Kontongs Bello, said three of the suspects have been arrested

He said: “They are Omozejele John ‘M’ (29years) arrested on 26/09/2021 at about 2000hrs at Uteh Community area of Upper Mission Extension Benin City, Smart Ogbeide ‘M’ (29years) was arrested on the 27/09/2021 at about 2130hrs along Paulingo Brothel Uteh Community Upper Mission Extension Benin City while Tajudeen Afesume ‘M’ (30years) arrested in his hideout at Owina Quarters Uteh Community Upper Mission Extension Benin City.

“The three suspects arrested have all confessed to the crime and further confessed to being members of Aye Secret Cult. They are presently cooperating with police investigations and are already providing useful information that will lead to the arrest of other cult members on the run.”
But in a swift reaction, the NBM in a statement disassociated itself from the hoodlums who assaulted the innocent lady.

The group commended the police and security agencies for apprehending some of the accused outlaws, adding that they played a role in the arrest of the thugs.
The statement reads: “The Neo Black Movement of Africa (NBM) hereby dissociates itself from a viral video showing some hoodlums and hardened criminals that attacked and dehumanized a young lady over purportedly using the slangs of NBM in a viral TIK TOK video.
“While we frown at such a murderous and wicked act it is pertinent to note that the Neo-Black Movement (NBM) is not in any way involved or in support of such criminal responses.

“The NBM of Africa is not the same as Black Axe and has nothing in connection in whatsoever way.

“While we commend the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies for the prompt arrest of some of the criminals who brutalized the innocent lady, we are however constrained to make this public announcement in view of our noticing a possible linking of members of the NBM to the perpetrators of this heinous and sacrilegious act. As a matter of fact, the NBM of Africa was instrumental in the apprehension of some of the perpetrators.
“We hereby restate, as always, that we are a law-abiding organisation registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) as equally affirmed by courts in the land. Deliberate attempts by any agency or any news medium to associate members of the NBM of Africa with such criminal acts carried out by those hoodlums will be resisted and viewed as libellous.

“As a Pan-Africanist socio-cultural organisation that seeks to promote fairness, justice and social equality we would not condone such wicked acts by any group of person.”
