In a political firmament characterized by banditry, terrorism and all kinds of criminal entrepreneurship, opportunistic patriots who felt scores are yet settled will always cash in on any trivialities to make do something from nothing. As a genuine leader, one is bound to accommodate every trash, fib and cheap propaganda bandied around by ones traducers. The propoderant of citizen journalism as well as dearth of investigative journalism as obtainable in our clime aids to a large extent this falsehood and blackmail peddlers. So like the American Statesman, you can not tell what next, foes of public peace are incubating. Insecurities as in our Nigerian State are surefire advantage to these criminals paymasters. Everything howsoever modicum is exaggerated for gross effect.
Governor Ugwuanyi, for excellent reasons is famed for his peace records. Our media is now littered with compliments, articles and more testimonies by national and International leaders of sort about the governor’s undieing love for entrenching peace,order and rule of law in governance of Enugu State. So why debate Gburugburu’s involvement in the recent hoopla generated by paid agents to frustrate the execution of a lawful subsisting order of a High Court of unsullied jurisdiction?
Don’t you also believe that the Governor has abdicated his hallowed office to descend into the judiciary arena of Nigerian miracles?
In good faith, I enjoin you to believe all the fibs cooked by these media jury and prosecutors, they are right. However, a rider perhaps. The untrue nature of your beliefs would be laid bay after much assessment of Gburugburu’s historical antecedent of peace and order of civilized existence. The night is far spent for the Governor to aprobate and reprobate particularly at the twilight of his stay in the Lion’s Building. Communities earlier torn apart by crisis now celebrate him as a bridge builder. Certainly, Gburugburu can’t afford the luxury of demolishing a heard-won reputation of peace loving governor anchored on a gravel foundation for six years now just for material acquisition.
The incident of New Artisan Market within Enugu Metropolis two days ago was another eye opener as to the length people of zero goodwill can embark to achieve unholy results. That the land in question belong to a named Chief and that demolition and possession order by Enugu State High Court has remained uncontroverted facts. Again, reports are rife that adequate reasonable time notice was issued to the Northerners to vacate and resettle to a place assured them by the detribalized governor. Why then the ruckus hullabaloo.
Any keen observer of what transpired, will entertain no doubt that the governor’s detractors has advanced in their measures to engender distrust and misgivings were there’s none. Agenda to pitch Governor Ugwuanyi with the Northern Community of New Artisan Market or their kits and kin in the larger Northern Nigeria have failed woefully, dead on arrival.
Thank providence for Ugwuanyi prompt wading into the affairs and his strictest sanctioning that the errant element be brought within the pangs of justice.
