Awgu LG Flags Of Free Medical And Health Services For All Development Centers

Awgu Local Government Area has flagged off a massive free medical outreach in partnership with GburusCare Initiative targeted at 2500 elderly persons in four development centres in the area; The Healthcare intervention’s kickoff exercise was held on Thursday September 2nd at Eke-Ama Iwe Village Square Onoli Awgu.

Speaking to Newsmen, The Chairman of Awgu Local Government Area, Hon. Pedro Okwudili Nwankwo, stated that the medical outreach was part of Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi’s effort towards ensuring that medical services reach the weak and elderly across the rural areas in the state.

He also stated that the Partnership with Gburuscare Initiative was necessitated by the widespread impact of the initiative and the begging demand of ready healthcare for for elderlies in Awgu LG. The Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi’s team of Medical and Health Professionals made up of dentists, physiotherapists, pharmacists, nurses, doctors and medical lab scientists are charged with rendering free healthcare services to the aged persons in the rural communities in Enugu state.

The flag-off exercise at Onoli Awgu had a massive turn out of elderlies of Onoli and environs. Stakeholders who were present to witness and show support and solidarity to the Governor of Enugu State and the Chairman of Awgu LG include, The Deputy Chairman of Awgu L.G.A, Hon. Barr. Lotachuwku Ogbonnaya, The Secretary General Awgu L.G.A, Hon. Barr. Linus Maduka, the HOD Health, Mr. Chuka Eze, the Supervisor for Health, Hon. Nkiru Okafor, Traditional Rulers, Women Leaders, Councillors and etc.
