Gunmen suspected to be bandit terrorists have kidnapped the Permanent Secretary in Niger Ministry of Transportation, Dr. Ibrahim Garba Musa and his granddaughter.
It was gathered that the perm sec who was in Zugeru for a wedding celebration was abducted in his house on Friday night.
A family source told The Nation that terrorists gained access to the government official house after breaking down the gate to abduct Musa who was relaxing after the wedding celebration.
The family has already reacted out to the Niger State government over the abduction.
Confirming the incident, the Secretary to the Niger State Government, Alhaji Ahmed Ibrahim Matane, said he has just been informed.
He assured that the State Government would do everything possible to ensure the Permanent Secretary is rescued unharmed.
Meanwhile, the chairman of Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State, Suleiman Chukumba, has revealed what Boko Haram terrorists told the people of his community after they had taken over the territory.
While decrying the activities of the dreaded groups in a chat with newsmen at Minna, the state capital earlier, Chukumba said Boko Haram had told residents in the communities that they do not want to see conventional primary and secondary schools in the environment.
According to him, they said their only preference is the Islamic school and nothing else.
Chukumba told reporters that Boko Haram terrorists have dominated over 500 communities in Shiroro only.
He alleged that the group is trying to equip the people to fight against the government.
