A former media aide to Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano, Salihu Tanko Yakasai (Dawisu) has accused President Muhammadu Buhari of confusing bandits with his orders.

Yakasai on Saturday mockingly declared that President Buhari is confusing bandits and terrorists in the country with conflicting ultimatums and “stern warnings”.

The declaration by Yakasai follows an earlier statement by President Buhari through his spokesperson, Garba Shehu where he reacted to the recent abduction of some students of the Federal College of Forestry Mechanisation in Kaduna State.

It will be recalled as earlier reported by Bibian Anekwe News that President Muhamadu Buhari warned terrorists, bandits, and other criminals targeting schools in the country that he won’t allow them to destroy the educational system in the country.

The President issued the stern warning in a statement on Saturday through his spokesperson, Garba Shehu where he reacted to the recent abduction of students from the Federal College of Forestry Mechanisation, Afaka, Kaduna State who were abducted on Thursday night from their school premises.

However, Yakasai says the President is confusing the bandits with his conflicting ultimatums and stern warnings.

Taking to his Twitter page, Yakasai wrote: “To be honest, you’re confusing these bandits/terrorists. Last week in Zamfara you gave them 2 months’ notice, today na stern warning, which one should they take seriously Mallam Garba? If I’m a father with a kid in boarding school in the affected States, I’ll withdraw them kawai.”

It will be recalled that Yakasai was sacked last month by Governor Ganduje for criticizing the Buhari government and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), blaming them for the inability to curb the general insecurity confronting the country.

Before he was sacked, he was also picked up and grilled by the Department of State Services (DSS) for his public statements against the government.

Meanwhile, the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has revealed various steps that can resolve the crisis between herdsmen and farmers in Nigeria.

In a statement he personally signed on Saturday, the former Lagos State Governor urged the Muhammadu Buhari-led government to convene a meeting between state governors, security operatives, herdsmen, farmers, and traditional rulers over the lingering crisis.

The APC chieftain rumoured to be eyeing the presidency in 2023 asked the government and stakeholders to work out principles aimed at resolving the persistent crisis.
