Boko Haram Attack Dikwa, Overtake UN Hub In Borno

The dreaded Boko Haram terrorists have sent security operatives running as they attack and took over over Dikwa town in Borno, Northeast Nigeria.
Recall that Dikwa town is about 90km from Maiduguri has come under constant attack from the insurgents since the liberation of the town in 2016.

The town also hosts the military Super Camp 9 where the Army Chief visited last week and gave order for the retaking of Matte, which is about 20km away.

Sources told Daily Post that the insurgents have also taken control of the United Nations hub in Monday night attack.

The security information reads: “Information indicates Dikwa has been overrun by the NSAG and attempting to gain access into the UNHUB Confirmed…, the AOG penetrated into Dikwa Hub. Urgent response team is needed at the hub please. The hub has been broken by the ISWAP-BHT. They are currently inside the premises of the hub.”

Sources within the security operatives said effort is being made to reinforce and engage the militants.

Meanwhile, Boko Haram militants have also attacked Bukarti, Yunusari Local Government Area of Yobe State.

Yobe State is about 120km from Maiduguri in the northeast Nigeria.

The attack on Burkarti in Yunusari Local Government Area, about 200km from Damaturu, the state capital is coming barely 24 hours after residents reported strange movement and gathering of suspected militants in the area.
