For more than two calendar years, the Amachala Village of IBITE OKPATU Community had faced acute scarcity of portable water. Their only source of drinking water had been bedeviled by a faulty pump and other technical challenges.
The hardships ocassioned by this, expectedly, was enormous on these rural populace.
Upon intimation of this situation, the People loving Mayor of Udi LGA approved and prioritised the procurement of a new Submersible pump accompanied with other logistics to put an end to this situation and alleviate the suffering of the People.
Consequently, a thankful ambience of grateful rural women were in high voices as they eulogized the Mayor, Hon Ifeanyi Agu who heard their plea and moved with dispatch to provide them succour.
The Ward Chairman Okpatu Ward,
the President General of Ibite- Okpatu, the Local government PDP Woman Leader, the traditional Rulers etc were on hand for the formal handover of the rehabilitated project to the Community. They took turns to appreciate the Mayor for answering their call especially given the many failed attempts in the past.
They further extolled the Governor and the PDP for creating the atmosphere for the emergence of a kind and compassionate Chairman in Udi.
The Administrator of OJEBE-OGENE Development Center appreciated the Council Chairman for his continual show of love and commitment to the people of the Development Center while assuring them that more intervention project will come their way.
The Mayor in his response told them that projects like this is in line with his campaign promises and a demonstration of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi’s will to better the lives of our rural dwellers.
