From the time immemorial, it is a fact hardly contestable that every hero has some weaknesses otherwise known in another parlance as flaws or hubris.classically and certainly, those flaws symbolize the Achilles heel responsible for the downfall of every hero in every clime. It is upon this premise that I beg the permission of the readers of this article to dissect a bit the pros and cons of the executive governor of Enugu State, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.
It is a well established fact that the destructive critics in every political pool would enjoy to cash on the faults of their political opponents to dig their graves and would not relent on overflogging those perceived shortcomings till they drive home their points. At this juncture, I wish to unapologetically submit that one of the most outstanding sins of Gov. Ifeanyi Lawrence Ugwuanyi as a political activist is the fact that he has been able to prove beyond reasonable doubt that the quantum of humility and humanity in him is simply inborn and unquestionable. But today some critics would wish to underestimate him for demonstrating unalloyed humility in very challenging situation as he doesn’t take any delight in pride but I stand to be corrected that he who humbles himself shall unavoidably be elevated and his continual ascension of the ladder of political leadership in Enugu State and beyond remains a serious testament to this submission. Now, I put it to his unrepentant critics to supply an answer to the question; has humility become a sin in our clime?
Another popular sin of Gburu Gburu that cannot be ignored is his tendency to forgive his adversaries, foes or opponents almost without a second thought. It is in public domain that Governor Ugwuanyi has not left any stone unturned to welcome his erstwhile political opponents and everyone that believes in making quality input in order to engender peace and harmony which is pivotal to the development and growth of every society. This is most evident in the manner he handled his relationship with Senator Ayogu Eze who contested with him under the platform of APC for the governorship position of ENUGU STATE in the last general election and all his genuine efforts to bring every stakeholder to the same table for collective interest and welfare of the good people of Enugu State. In fact, anyone that is close to Gburu Gburu would testify without delay that just like water, Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has no enemy and I ask again is such predisposition a sinful act?
Before I conclude, I wish to remind all that the imperfections associated with every character are possibly innumerable and I will not forget to mention that being so much accommodating remains another area of concern that have continued to hold sway among Gburu Gburu’s hardcore critics as he has resisted the temptation of exhibiting discriminatory or segregatory attitudes towards the different classes that make up his immediate society henceforth, he has taken everyone; citizens and non-citizens alike as part of his personal family. The way, His Excellency Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has continued to relate with people starting from the lowest of the low to the highest of the high in Enugu State actually makes some people frown and suggest that he is being weak (he’s not) Unfortunately, his avowed critics have taken his soft spot for people as weakness and tend to take advantage of that to peddle hate speeches and fake news about him. the DSS and other security agencies would be knocking on several doors by now to fish out the culprits.
Another prominent sin of Governor Ifeanyi Lawrence Ugwuanyi is his God-fearing nature as he a staunch believer in the submission that the security man is securing in vane if God is not there with him which informs his decision for putting God first in every of his endeavours and certainly why he certainly handed ENUGU STATE INTO THE HANDS OF GOD as soon as he assumed his position as the governor. And honestly, today, many who cannot comprehend Gburu Gburu’s multi-dimensional character are left with no option than to remain bamboozled on his style and strategies of leadership. However, before I make my inference I wish to make another humble enquiry; has fearing God become a punishable offence in our land?
As a public leader, I will not restrict the analysis of Gburu Gburu’s character and roles to my personal opinion and perception as everyone is entitled to his opinion and remains free to make his own submission but I wish to acknowledge briefly that in subsequent editions, we shall continue to unveil more, Let us join hands together to support Gov.Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi administration, a man of peace with 99.9% humility and tolerance.
