It was the renowned Joel Osteen that asserted that ” you cannot expect victory and plan for defeat” while the legendary Mahatma Ghandi penciled down that “… all through history the way of truth and love have always won.”
While Dr. Peter Mba alongside his crew of verified and conscious intellectuals were busy marketing his manifestos and social contracts to the good people of Enugu State throughout the seventeen local government areas of Enugu State including strategic institutions during the electioneering activities that culminated in the March 18, 2023 Governorship and State Assembly Elections, his rivals depended heavily on the ripples of political bandwagonism and the ill-fated Obi tsunami borne out of excited political naivety.
The inspiring Dr. Roopleen once advised that “If you have a dream, don’t just sit there. Gather courage to believe that you can succeed and leave no stone unturned to make it a reality” and in the same dimension, Dr. Peter Mba never left any grey area in his eventful journey to the Lion Building as he kept every potential electorate abreast with his evolutionary and innovative ideas that are ready for execution once elected governor of Enugu State while the people naturally fell in love with his well crafted plans, hence the massive support he enjoyed during the election.
As majority of the consciously patriotic and passionate Enugu State citizens continue to wallow in the expected jubilation and celebrations marking the victory of Dr. Peter Mba at the polls, I am reminded of the golden words of the same philosophical Dr. Roopleen when she concluded that ” The world’s greatest achievers have been those who have always stayed focussed on their goals and have been consistent in their efforts” because Dr. Peter Mba’s outstanding consistency in his bid to take Enugu State to an enviable height naturally directed the people’s choice to resonate and echo the choice of even the gods and today both the audience and the cast are witnesses to the timeless Latin adage “VOX POPULI, VOX DEI” and finally OUR TOMORROW IS HERE.
