Since the inception of the current administration in Enugu State, the main cardinal objective was spelt which is PEACE. The peace mantra of the current administration has brought relative peace in all the nooks and crannies of the State and has made coexistence possible between the indigenous people of Enugu State and other tribes especially the Hausa/Fulani Community. The unprecedented peace we enjoy today is as a result of the peaceful nature of our amiable governor who abhors all forms of violence conflict and aligned his administration with purposeful dialogue. This is because of his believe that dialogue remains the only tool in restoring hope in the society and he hurriedly invented the Political Peace Dialogue (PPD) which have helped the administration in stabilizing the polite despite the unrelentness effort of some unscrupolous elements who are bend in dis stabilizing the peace in the State using Social media to criticize the administration when not necessary and in the guise to annihilate the good work of Governor Ugwuanyi, they sponsor people to cause mayhem in the State just to have the an opportunity to blame the peace and people oriented governor.
However, Governor Ugwuanyi has remain a model politician who do not segregate people according to their race, religion, ethnic affinity and Political affiliation but have examplified his leadership in seeing everyone as Image of God and treat everyone equal despite ones origin. He has achieved coexistence in the State by adopting dialogue as tool for cooperation; creating mutual understanding, respect and recognition of all the ethnic groups residence in the State, creating avenue for equal rights and privilege and has advanced good value orientation and perception of each tribes in the State. He is a detribalized leader who could be described in Igbo parlance as AKIDI AMA OKE ALA. He has championed coexistence in the State through bridging the gap between the north and south through trade relations. He created an enabling environment for our brothers in the north to carry out their businesses in any parts of the State without fear and promoted those things that binds us together. Through inter-religious dialogue, he brought Christian’s and Muslim leaders together which is instrumental to the peace we are enjoying in Enugu State today.
In liue of this, there was an uprising yesterday within the Hausa settlers who exhibited act of lawlessness at New Artisan Market when the family of a revered traditional Ruler and Statesman, late HRH Igwe Gabriel Nnaji (NWAJANJA) who is the owner of the land being illegally occupied by Northern traders came for demolition of the structures with subsisting judgement of the court to that effect; was interrupted and chase them out of the place by hoodlums who resisted the demolition and further block the road leading to the place and started burning tires along the road. Immediately, the Social media was awashed with different stories and makers of false alarm and information; without wasting time linked it to the State government via Enugu State Capital Territory Development Authority was instrumental to the demolition. The hurried linkage was aimed at damaging the peaceful coexistence which the current administration has since maintained between the north and the indigenous people of Enugu State since the inception of the current administration. This is because of the sinister agenda of distabilizing the polite ahead of 2023 which is a failed attempt. Others linked the clash to ESN and IPOB just to achieve a violent conflict in the State.
In the same vein, the people’s governor; in his quest for further institutionalize Onye biri; Ibeya biri agenda in the State made an adequate provision for resettlement of the traders who before the provision had a dialogue with the governor where a consensus was reached. The traders accepted the offer and had moved in to the new place. The governor out of his magnanimous disposition reached out to the family who is the owner of the property and begged them to grant the traders more time to pack to the new settlement centre which they obliged and it expired two days ago before yesterday execution of court order.
The hoodlums who are making trouble out of nothing had converted the New Artisan into Sodom and Gomorrah with other atrocities being committed by the illegal occupants on daily basis.
Ndi Enugu State is wiser today and have gone beyond such sinister campaign of calumny just to malign an administration who have devoted time, energy and resources to advance coexistence in the State. The target is to cause tribal clash and that was the reason the Social media champions hurriedly linked it with ESN and IPOB so to cause tension in the State.
To the glory of God that our people have seen the ugly development orchestrated by real enemies of the State using Social media as tools to hatch their evil plans. Governor Ugwuanyi is a detribalized leader and have devotion on coexistence of all people in the State and will further institutionalize Onye biri; Ibeya biri distributive character of his leadership in Enugu State.
