It was the renowned satirist and stoic philosopher of Ancient Rome whose characteristic logic was influenced by the likes of Socrates, Plato and the host of other great philosophers including Ovid and Virgil that was credited with the timeless critical statement that “we hold the flaws of others before our eyes but turn our backs toward our own”. This timeless assertion resonates with man’s willingness to ignore his own faults while focusing on the faults of others. Our Lord Jesus Christ while admonishing those He referred to as the Hypocrites in Matt 7:5 (English Standard Version), called on each to first take away the log of wood in their respective eyes to enable them see clearly in order to remove that speck in their neighbour’s eyes.
A critical look at the prevailing political battle in Enugu State, one would search no further for such blind critics after due analysis of the sort of empty and self-destructive beguilement and legerdemain raised by the opposition to the people’s preferred governorship candidate : Dr. Peter Mba of the People’s Democratic Party.
A closer scrutiny of all the governorship candidates in Enugu State today would also reveal that almost all them have served in the previous administrations in the state. While politics remain local, it is quite ironic to note that none of them who have served previously can boast of any resourceful investments or institutions worthy of any verified impactful entrepreneurship in the state and the nation except Dr. Peter Mba whose efficiency in public relations, economic development and advancement came to bear through his outstanding performance in the growth and management of the popular Pinnacle Oil And Gas from a two – room apartment in Lagos to the height that the company has attained today as currently the number one in the nation’s number one mainstream economy and other legitimate business affiliates that have continued to function as timely catalysts to the myriads of economic challenges bedeviling our immediate society.
Dr. Peter Ndubusi Mba deserves to be extolled for his meritorious accomplishments as a private entrepreneur. Yet, crowning him with the critical sensitive responsibility of handling the onerous task of governing Enugu State in order to guide us through the complexities of economic and technological revolutions currently determining the global dimensions will be another great icing on the cake. Ironically for reasons of all being fair in war and love, some oppositions would rather resort to duplicity, trumpery and sophism to dent the well established endearing personality of Dr. Peter Mba and his team of alluring alliance, but one thing is sure; darkness can never overtake light as the victory of Dr. Peter Mba at the polls remains pragmatically assured.
Some of the oppositions instead of educating the electorates about their social contracts with them in firm persuasion to convince the people why they should be seen as better options, rather resort to double-dealing and treachery by attempting to confuse the gullible masses that Dr. Peter Mba’s wealth and connections are bye-products of his embezzlement of Enugu State’s fund when they are actually the ones with known properties across the globe where they had gone to hide their ill-gotten and certainly ill-fated wealth from the eyes of the people whose commonwealth are being looted and re-looted. Today, most of those that constitute the so – called opposition in Enugu State cannot be bold enough to declare their assets because they lack legitimate background but the same people are fueling the false allegations that Pinnacle Oil And Gas and all the economic empires of the legal icon and the man of the people, Dr Peter Mba is corrupt. Anyway, their mendacity, treason and craftiness shall remain still born as every rational electorate will eventually vote for Dr. Peter Mba as the next governor of Enugu State because our TOMORROW is already HERE.
Enugu State is in the Hands of God.
