As the scheduled 2023 general elections inches closer by the day, political gladiators are living nothing to chance to ensure they clinch the coveted treasure and crown when the final curtain is drawn. Not quite a few among them are visibly agitated at what might eventually be their fate in the hands of the electorate when they file out to the Polling booth to decide who gets what.
To grab the attention of the electorates, these political gladiators are ready to do anything ranging from subtle hoodwinking, digging out political opponents past and outright lies against one another just to sway the electorates opinion. It was John Lyly who declared in what has been regarded today as an eternal proverb that “All is fair in love and war”.
The import of this proverb will reside in the fact that all rules of normal civility do not apply during war making as well as when one is desperately in love. This sentiment lies in the fact that any type of behavior is acceptable as long as it will guarantee one to get whatever he or she wants in matters of combat and of the heart. What then matters is not how one gets to grab the ultimate power but getting it Las Las.
The above scenario has become a common place as the race to occupy political positions in the 2023 general elections gets hotter across the country. Politicians trying to outsmart one another via any means possible. Recently, political opposition in Enugu went about town with tales of a fake NYSC Certificate which they claimed emanated from the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Dr. Peter Mba to INEC during his screening before he emerged victorious at the primary election. For the tale bearers, this tissue of lie should be another veritable tool to nail the coffin of the rising profile of candidate Mba. For the opposition, candidate Mbah has become too hot for them to handle and it becomes imperative to stop him in his tracks including bringing in unnecessary distractions to put paid to his access to the Lion Building come May 29th, 2023. If nothing else could be done to stop him, let’s go to town to announce that Dr. Ndubusi Mba skipped the mandatory National Youth Service program which is the presentation of the fake NYSC Certificate to INEC is all about after his graduation. Therefore the very act of presenting a fake document in this regard is a cardinal sin which everyone must know about the one whom they want to entrust their mandate to.
What his political detractors failed to reckon is that in this age of super information highway and extant laws of the land in the area of Freedom of information, it goes beyond absurdity to envisage a group of acclaimed sound and conscious minds engaging in a deliberately blind quest to unconscionably auction off sham and fallacy to a society that is riding high on the waves of rapid information technological advances.
And it is this seemingly uncommon sense that forms the impetus behind the explosive consternation and bewilderment of the good people of Enugu State at the recent show of shame undertaken by some desperate and envious Abuja politicians to tarnish the sparkling image of Dr. Peter Mba earned through a dint of hard work and contagious grace by selling a very cheap lie to the people that the people’s chosen candidate and the People’s Democratic Party flag bearer, Dr. Peter Mba presented a fake NYSC certificate to the Independent Electoral Commission(INEC) during his screening.
It is not just ironical but funny that the mushrooms of oppositions contesting with Dr. Peter Mba instead of educating the listening and accommodating people of Enugu State about their plans and manifestos would rather decide to follow the dishonorable road of blackmails and calumny in an age of ideological political leadership and power game when competence is the towering requirement for electoral victory.
Prior to this publication, the pictorial evidence and verifiable facts about Dr. Peter Mba’s glorious NYSC days and attendant successful discharge from duty has already dominated the mainstream media and deserves no further advertisements and emphasis for the wise minds as one needs just a tap on his communicative device to behold every answer he seeks but I believe that as a passionate fan and a staunch supporter to Dr. Peter Mba, I consider it part of my inalienable rights and obligations to debunk and confute every form of fabrication, equivocation or prevarication doctored to distort the beautiful oasis of leadership that his traits and character represents.
Therefore, as we count down to the epoch – making 2023 general elections in Enugu State, every electorate should be wary in order to filter every form of propaganda marketed by some forlorn, desperate and jealous politicians who are obviously bereft of the requisite needs of the people, rather driven by individualistic and selfish aggrandisement and ennoblement.
