Hon Edu Dominion the Director General Of Enugu Progressive Forum (EPF) described His Excellency Lawrence Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi as an Educated Elite.
Hon Edu Dominion further stated that education is the light of every nation, and without education there will be nothing like socialization, education reshapes every country, education is the life wire and the bedrock of the socio-political and economic development of any country.
And that is why it is only the learnerd that care about education in every country, you can not talk about those that knows the worth of education in people’s life without talking about His Excellency Lawrence Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.
Firstly, the federal government award of excellence to the model secondary school at Nsukka in Enugu State as the winner of the presidents teachers and schools excellence Award, this award which is a thing of pride, honour and joy to the state approved the institution of Governor Lawrence Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi’s award of excellence to the best primary and secondary schools in the State.
Secondary, in award of engineering degrees, Enugu State have been among the top 10 winners of the examinations conducted by WAEC and NECO, in the same vain, 22 post secondary school students in Enugu State were offered scholarship to study different curses at Mewar University in India by Enugu State Government.
Thirdly, Ugwuanyi recruits 1500 primary school teachers, this shakes the table of Nigeria union of teachers (NUT) as they confess that since 5 to 10 years ago that more than 22 States have not employed new teachers in primary and secondary schools but Ugwuanyi breaks the record in Enugu state.
Fourthly, with the support of Ugwuanyi 810million naira was released to the institute of management and technology (IMT) Enugu for the construction of ultramodern classroom complex, a purpose build and fully furnished office complex, a complex for exams and records division, two houses that will house modern public toilets for staffs and students and a fully furnished medical centre.
Also, Governor Lawrence Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has reconstructed the dilapidated internal roads and drainage channels in the school, starting from the school gate down to the rector’s village, the institution also through Ugwuanyi’s help commenced degree awarding programmes in banking and finance, business administration, accountancy, statistics, public administration, and marketing in affiliation with the prestigious University of Nigeria Nsukka(UNN).
Again, Ugwuanyi offered indigent students of IMT and that of Enugu State polytechnic Iwollo scholarship, the scholarship covers their tuition fees for four years of academic sessions in all engineering programmes of the institution, another scholarship was given to Miss Chinecherem Cynthia Ali of shalom academy Nsukka to any university of her choice for scoring A1 in all the nine subjects during west African examination council(WAEC) Exams.
Furthermore, Ugwuanyi also with the State’s Junior Secondary School (JSS) students who took part in a two-weeks Mental Arithmetic training by National Mathematics Centre Abuja during the Governor’s visit to Queens School Enugu, also commissioned ICT equipment procured by the State Government for public secondary schools in the state.
Moreover, 600 computers, 600 computer tables, 600 ups, 60 generators sets, 60 printers,260 classroom blocks in schools across the three senatorial zones of the state, this is part of the 589 classroom blocks that have been constructed and renovated by Ugwuanyi’s administration.
Others include 22, 150 set of lockers and chairs for students, 1,228 set of tables and chairs for teachers, 1,130 marker board for teaching and 1,960 ceiling fans for conductive teaching and learning environment.
And the construction of the administrative blocks for the take-off of the newly established Enugu state University of education Ihe Agwu which is the first University of education in southeast region.
