Through a recent intervention by the people-oriented government of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Dr. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, the executive governor of Enugu State in fine-tuning the infrastructural and aesthetic appeal of one of the foremost hotels and relaxation oasis in the whole Eastern Nigeria; NIKE LAKE RESORT, Enugu state is bound to make more inroads into the treasury of tourism in this part of the globe.
During the phase one unveiling ceremony that took place recently in the resort, Dame (Barr.) Ugochi Madueke, leading the hotel’s Board of Directors and Management, eminently declared their approbation for Mr. Fulfillment, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for his timely response to the fate of the resort that was almost outrun by emerging technologies.
In further conveyance of their update, Barrister Madueke communicated that in spite of the ongoing refurbishment, that the resort has been restored to carry on in full swing. Giving an inventory of the affected areas, Madueke cited some of the interventions to include the following among others;
*Overhauling of the furniture and sanitary wares in 92 rooms.
*Replacement of hitherto existing rugs in the rooms with floor tiles.
* Installation of CCTV Cameras.
*Replacement of outdated kitchen equipment with modern ones.
*Construction of a modern entrance gate for efficient service delivery and effective security operation.
*Remodeling of the entrance view with brick stones and mounting of designed chain-link fence.
*Water reticulation system for adequate water supply.
*Renovation of the ‘Omenala’ Bar, adjacent to the lake view, with cultural crafts, et cetera, to depict the ambience the relaxation centre adores.
*Improved welfare package for staff of the hotel, among others.
Some of the notable personalities present to witness the event include; the former Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Alison Madueke (Rtd); the Deputy Speaker of House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Uche Ugwu; the Leader of the House, Rt. Hon. Ikechukwu Ezeugwu; Chief of Staff to the Governor, Rt. Hon. Dr. Festus Uzor; Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Hon. Ugonna Ibe; his Youths and Sports counterpart, Hon. Manfred Nzekwe; Council Chairmen of Enugu East, Uzo-Uwani, Oji River, Awgu, Udi, Aninri LGAs led by the State ALGON Chairman, Hon. Imploring the hotel’s Board of Directors and Management to be driven by the dream to keep the resort at a very high pedestal, in his closing remarks, Gburu Gburu who was obviously fascinated by the advancement made so far endorsed their efforts in meeting up with their responsibilities.
