Management pundits have repeatedly maintained that government does not exist for itself for purposes of being in existence. It therefore exists as a plank to harness social and economic resources for the good of the society which enthroned it. All other responsibilities of the government ensues from this primary role. There is no doubt that the government in Enugu State led by the vision and mission packed leader, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has shown that governance can be an interesting venture after all.
His knack for the minutest details to ensure that every sector is up and running for the good of the entire citizenry is not only cheerful to the heart but worthy of emulation by whoever is coming to take over the helms of leadership in Enugu post 2023.
Today, the global economy especially in the developing economies is in shambles but that has rather brought out the best of Ugwuanyi’s managerial skills and emboldened him to take government responsibilities very seriously.
Environmental degradation occasioned by both human and natural factors is one vital area that has often suffered neglect by most governments because of it’s unending depletion of scarce resources that could be channeled to other uses. Fact too, is that no society worth it’s name can thrive in an environment so risky and unhealthy for human habitation. Environmental degradation has often caused massive havoc than can be imagined. So many land areas meant for economic development and even the developed ones have been wasted and washed away by erosion menace.
It is therefore important to applaud Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for putting our collective wealth where our hearts are. His visible efforts to contain the evils of erosion menace in the urban city of Enugu with concrete embankment is highly commendable. The ongoing erosion control in some parts of Enugu urban would remain another legacy project of the government of Ugwuanyi which will impact positively on our environment and economy as well.
It must again be restated that the economy is not really smiling to the global business, but the government of Ugwuanyi has always found a way around many intractable issues in government to deal with them in such a way that bespeaks of his administrative prowess. Enugu is so lucky to have a gifted, a listening and a willing leader in Rt. Honorable Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi. He not only understands his mandate, but makes no fuss about it.
His diligence has remained second to none in the governance of the state.
Enugu state should remain prayerful in the hope that another political leader in the garb of Ugwuanyi shall traverse the Lion building come 2023. So help us God, Amen…
