The 17 Governors of Southern Nigeria are expected to arrive the Coal City capital of Enugu State Thursday 16th September 2021 for their 3rd meeting of the year. The meeting which is slated to hold at the Lion Building Government House, Independent Layout, Enugu State, shall be hosted by no other person than His Excellency Rt Hon Ifeanyichukwu Lawrence Ugwuanyi, the peoples Executive Governor of Enugu State.
As everyone in the State is agog with curiosity and high expectations, so also are the visitors themselves and, indeed, all Nigerians who believe that the meeting shall turn out to be one the most successful ever in the history of the Southern.

Perhaps, here are some of the perceptions attributable to these high expectations.
1. The people of Enugu State are second to none when it comes to friendliness towards strangers as well as their outwards display of generosity and peaceful conducts and orderliness.
2. The State is richly blessed and endowed with the most attractive landscapes that distinguished it from other States in Nigeria.
3. The present Governor of the State, Governor Ugwuanyi, has demonstrated sterling leadership qualities which endeared him to the people within and outside the State.
In view of the aforementioned attributes, nothing other than resounding success shall be accepted at the end of the meeting. It has, therefore, become imperative that lasting impressions about the Enugu State and her good people must be made to live in the memories of the august visitors as they depart to their various States.
To do this, a lot is expected from the good people and the Government of Enugu State in order to live up to the stated expectations, hence the need for the following underlying principles and guidelines on our expected conducts and comportment during the visit, which are hereby referred to as ‘The 10 Commandments’
Here are The 10 Commandments:
1. Thou shall not cause obstructions on the roads during the visit.
Anything capable of creating gridlocks or road traffic crashes must be avoided, as well as road traffic infractions such as driving against the smooth flow traffics, wrongful overtaking, aggressive or rage driving. Every one is expected to be orderly, especially at the filling stations and the bus stops.
2. Thou shall not cause any breach of peace in the State during the visit.
There should total absence of the hoodlums and their unpleasant activities throughout the State during the period, so as to uphold the belief of Nigerians that Enugu State is a symbol of harmony, peace, orderliness and tranquility.
3. Thou shall not politicise the Southern Governors meeting.
The Southern Governors meeting is not about PDP versus their rival APC. It is neither for political acrimony nor for intra or inter party vendetta. The Southern Governors meeting is purely about critical national issues meant for our overall interests.
4. Thou shall not constitute security threats in the State.
The security agencies in the State should live up to their billings. Also Enugu Electricity Distribution Authority should not embarrass our visitors with blackouts.
5. Thou shall not stir up or create unnecessary panics, tensions or pandemonium in whatsoever manner.
6. Thou shall not pollute the beautiful environments of the Coal City capital tagged one of the cleanest in Nigeria.
To maintain this status, no rubbish should be allowed to litter the streets.
7. Thou shall not display negative attitudes to portray our people as bad and unfriendly.
The people of Enugu State are well known for their warm reception and generosity towards strangers. This reputation should, therefore, be sustained at all costs.
8. Thou shall not upstage any form of violence or protests whatsoever during the visit.
No group should, therefore, agitate for Self Rule, Ban on Open Grazing or 2023 Igbo Presidency.
9. Thou shall not soil the impeccable image and profile of our revered Governor to portray him in bad light.
It takes a lot of commitments and sacrifices to build such enviable height of reputation of Governor Ugwuanyi, which have endeared him to the good people of Enugu State and Nigeria in general. No one shall, therefore, try to destroy this Golden Structure.
10. Thou shall show strong solidarity and support to our one and only beloved Governor Ugwuanyi, the peoples choice of Enugu State.
We should therefore, pray fervently for the successful, peaceful and fruitful outcomes of the September 16th 2021 Southern Governors Meeting
To do so is to add our collective prayers for Enugu State to remain solidly in the mighty hands of God.
