One of the cardinal virtues lacking in our clime as of today is humility. The erosion of this important virtue in our society today is the reason for most societal malaise and vices. It is difficult to count out twenty humble men and women out of every hundred. It is even more difficult to find a humble person among our leaders today or among the well to do persons in our society. Humility is the quality of having a modest or low view of one’s importance contrasting sharply with narcissism and hubris and other forms of pride, and realizing an idealistic and rare intrinsic construct that has physical manifestations. Our Lord Jesus Christ was emphatic when He admonished His followers that whoever desires to be greatest must be the servant of others. In His views, whoever put himself above others will be put down, but whoever humbles him or herself will be honored. Humility therefore is essential to establishing a good relationship with the people and God.

It could not be gain-said therefore that governor Ifeanyichukwu Ugwuanyi successful run in the governance of Enugu State is relatable to his uncommon fear of God as a leader and his excellent relationship with the citizens irrespective of political, religious or cultural considerations. He is downright confident. As a political leader, he wields enormous powers but that doesn’t rule his head. He therefore abhors arrogance in any imaginable manner.
The renowned Rabbi Pini Dunner must have the likes of Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi in mind when he opined that humility entails placing others first and accentuating the importance of other people’s worth which the Governor of Enugu State has often demonstrated in clear terms whenever opportunity presented itself. His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Dr. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, the executive governor of Enugu State through his many actions continues to sound and reverberate the semantic niceties of the lexicon; humility, to the applause and adulation of his fans.

The trending picture of GBURU GBURU kneeling down at All Saints Catholic Church, Amanvu, Nkalagu of Ishielu Local Government Area, Ebonyi State recently indicates among other things, that he understands the values embedded in meekness. It is worthy to appreciate the fact that Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has continued through his different various public engagements to dramatize that it is in the service of others that the greatest form of humility is realized.

Underscoring the definition of humility from every scholarly perspective, it will be very difficult to realize an effective leadership without oiling the machinery with the right amount of humility, and today as the good people of Enugu State and beyond continue to celebrate the character of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for the outstanding humility that defines his attitude , more voices from across all the geopolitical zones making up Nigeria and beyond has risen in unison to demand and yearn for someone like GBURU GBURU to avail himself for the onerous task of presiding the overall affairs of Nigeria, come 2023. Today, we celebrate a governor whose political nomenclature; GBURU GBURU is an onomatopoeia for humility.

As I reluctantly bridge my thought process on this textual construction, I will certainly but briefly explore my freedom of speech by reminding our most humble governor; Rt. Hon. Dr. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi that his humility humbles others while his modesty brings out the modesty of others . I also submit that for humbling himself in prayer, GBURU GBURU remains a sure beneficiary of all the benefits of humility described in the book of Hebrew which are honor, wisdom, prosperity , God’s protection and peace ; after all, “ God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble “( Proverbs 3:34.)

Enugu State is in the Hands of God.
