One of the greatest sermons in the scripture is the one that attempts to establish our symbolism and imagery of God but it takes a lot of spiritual growth and maturity to realise our right of dominion over every other creature as mandated by the Almighty Creator. Significantly enough, man’s proverbial representation of God and his domineering role on this terrestrial planet finds expression easily when one is entrusted with the political authority to lead his people and coincidentally, such opportunity also creates a rare chance for integrity test.
Again, in so many cases, religious scholars have tried to justify the argument that our earthly leaders enjoy divine ordination and confirmation, consequently, deserve some tangible respect, obedience and loyalty from his subjects. Nevertheless, the evolution of the political activities of man tends to implicate man’s innate quest for excellence in all aspects coated with a shining intolerance for mediocrity. As I go through the pages of Governor IFEANYI UGWUANYI’S government policies and achievements in the educational sector, I fail to resist the temptation to experience the touch of divinity in his reign; I feel certain that there must be something beyond physical that plays the drums regulating his leadership steps; I drown my illusions of irresponsible government in the reality of the responsiveness of Gburu Gburu’s unique administration. So, today I now understand that it is not by accident that Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi upon assuming office immediately handed over Enugu State into the able Hands of God.
Today, when I behold the magnificence of the 21st Century facilities and gadgets provided by Governor UGWUANYI’S government in our state polytechnics, colleges and special schools and his efforts in ensuring that most of the unaccredited courses are accredited right across the three senatorial districts of the state, I then understand what is by the scriptural reference that “…when the righteous is power, the people rejoice.” Of course, even the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) testified to the sterling advancement of Enugu State under the leadership machinery of Gburu Gburu.
Who would not marvel to learn that in spite of the ravaging challenges defining the global community, Governor IFEANYI as a ”fantastic manager of resources” succeeded in building and constructing of almost a thousand of primary and secondary school blocks, evenly distributed right across the state? Truly, ENUGU STATE is in the Hands of God.
When the insightful Governor learnt that one of the key problems of our public schools was the inadequacy of qualified teachers and administrators, he handed the situation over to God and today ,over 5000 primary and secondary school teachers have been trained, retrained, equipped and empowered.
In a similar move, as soon as Governor Ugwuanyi discovered that most of the parents of those attending public schools could not afford standard educational materials, he characteristically handed the situation over to God and today, over 22,150 lockers and 22150chairs for primary school children,1228 arm chairs and 2456 armless chairs for teachers as well as 1130 white marker boards for teaching have been supplied and evenly distributed across our community schools.
Governor Ifeanyi Ugwanyi also procured and distributed over 12,480 writing desk and chairs for primary school pupils in the state in addition to other of his vast education-revival programs. In fact, his decision to involve Divinity in implementing educational policies in the Coal City will not stand the test of time but will immortalize his reign . In every earnestness, Enugu State is in the Hands of God.
Kudos to Rt. Hon. Governor Ifeanyi Ugwanyi for handing the Enugu State educational sector into the unshakable HANDS OF GOD.
