May, 29 2015 would forever mark the beginning of a new dawn in the lives of ndi Enugu, as Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Ifeanyi Lawrence Ugwuanyi took the mantle of captainship to sail the humongous ship of Enugu State. Many have thought that it was going to be business as usual; as it was in the character of politicians to renege or abandon their campaign promises to the people after clinching the trophy of political positions. The accomplishments of Rt. Honorable Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, Mr Fulfilment six years down the road has been able to change the narrative especially in Enugu State that there are indeed Politicians as there are also Exceptional Politicians Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi rightly belongs to the group of exceptional politicians. Even so, one might appear to be too careful to call governor Ugwuanyi a politician but a political leader of men and resources. The four points agenda of his administration have remained a reference point to evaluate his accomplishments as a good captain of Enugu State-ship.
The inhabitants of the state would forever be grateful to God Almighty for raising a leader like Rt. Hon.,(Dr.) Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi to steer the affairs of the state.
The Etudo/Awkunanaw street of Achara Layout recently received a fantastic facelift via the intervention of His Excellency. This road reputed for it’s deplorable state that even pedestrians finds it difficult to use let alone motorists has been transformed and the narrative of the notorious Etudo/Awknlunawnaw street changed for the good. The socio-economic wellbeing of the residents of the area largely affected by the state of the road have been restored through the intervention of the ministry of works and infrastructure. It is instructive to agree that governor Ugwuanyi’s continual supervision of the Project more than ensured that the road project was reconstructed and delivered in a record time. It is a reflection of a Captain who understands his mandate and mission to improve the lives of his on board passengers.
In this vein, the State government, has also commenced work to combat the effects of erosion at the popular Ekulu Bridge, Abakpa -Nike, Enugu. Those who commute through the bridge know how bad the bridge had become deteriorated in recent time. To demonstrate his feeling nature as a good captain, governor Ugwuanyi deployed resources in that axis to ameliorate the sufferings of the people who use that important route daily for socio-economic activities. The erosion control works is being fast-tracked in the area to assure the citizens that a strong and a humanist is on board the cabin crew.
There is no doubt that Enugu state have remained relatively peaceful and secure in the face of the multifaceted security challenges plaguing the nation courtesy of governor Ugwuanyi’s purposeful leadership to provide and sustain peace and security for Ndi Enugu.
To ensure a good living environment for the people to pursue their socio-political and economic goals, governor Ifeanyichukwu Ugwuanyi has made considerable progress towards the provisions of affordable accommodation for all categories of individuals just so too that the activities of the shylock landlords and their agents could be curtailed. The interventions of the Enugu State Housing Development Corporation (ESHDC), has certainly demonstrated an unquantifiable commitment in this regard. Now, even the poorest of the poor can now afford a quality and comfortable apartment within Enugu region.
As a good captain fit for the Oscar’s Governor Ugwuanyi took another selfless measure recently when he visited and paid fully the hospital bills of Enugu shooting victims while he expressed his sadness over the unfortunate and careless manner an agent of the state would misuse a weapon meant to protect the citizens.
The Mighty hands of God is holding firmly the ship of Enugu State in His grip. We shall remain grateful to Him for a raising a good Captain to steer the ship of the coal city state.
