It was a total shutdown on Saturday 25th of September 2021 at Kumkapi city of Istanbul Turkey as the Executive Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Dr. Ifeanyi Lawrence Ugwuanyi got showered with Seven (7) Meritorious Awards of The Most Peaceful Governor of the Year by the Nigerian Community in the Republic of Turkey. A seven star reception was organised by Nigerians, Turkish people and other lovers of peace across the world hosted by this beautiful country in the Middle-East that bridges Europe and Asia to welcome His Excellency, humbly represented by his SSA on Mobilization and Empowerment, Hon. Mrs Bibian Anekwe who doubles as the chairperson representing the office of First lady Udi local government Area also the director General Enugu Di N’aka chukwu Movement.
The event of Saturday in Turkey was followed by a massive rally organised by the Nigerians based in Turkey and graced by high profile personalities which include, Turkish Political Stakeholders, Business Tycoons and Investors who came out en mass to expressively avow their sincere support and solidarity towards the Administration of Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, his peaceful ideological dispositions and contributions to the peace and unity of the South-Eastern Geopolitical Zone through his Peace-Leadership.
When someone is motivated to act individually and function collectively for the benefit of humanity and the planet, peace-leadership is present. Central to peace-leadership is a desire for inclusion and cohesion whereby individuals are enabled to live in liberty to their fullest potential, free from the oppression of powers who seek to wield dominance.
Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi champions peace-leadership which is focused on creating a positive peace, while including essential elements working against forces for violence and aggression, or negative peace. It is an integral process to understand individual leadership capacities, relationships with others and representatives groups, and the interrelated systems underlying interactions around the world. In this respect, peace-leadership is much more than, what Einstein referred to as the “mere reduction of violence,” as it requires proactive, intentional practices to shift patterns of thinking, knowing, and doing in the face of strongly held beliefs and cherished ways of being.
In a compendium, peace-leadership is the mobilization of action for just change, this is exactly what Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi represents.
