In an era where most politicians have penchant for heaven on earth promises during electioneering campaigns and same penchant to breach them thereafter, it gladdens the heart to find a leader who is ready to walk his talk and a leader who does not care more about rhetoric but ready to match words with actions. In an era of political corruption in high places still, it is profoundly worthy to celebrate a visioner Gov. Peter Mbah not just for the poetry of his rhetorics but for his pragmatic approach to deliver massive democratic dividends to the people of Enugu State.
The Governor’s recent epoch-making launching of the Enugu State Diaspora And Investment Forum(ES-DIF) designed to attract a minimum of two billion dollars in investment interests within an interval of three hundred and thirty six days is a testament to his utilitarian and efficient predilection for a proactive and state-of-the-art leadership proclivities. Explaining the essence of the forum which is scheduled to take place in April, 2024 to the willing listeners, Governor noted that the forum will be “… a multi-stakeholder, fully transactional platform championed by Enugu State Government to accelerate the identification, preparation, curation and financial closure of investment projects to achieve the State’s Private – led Economic Transformation Agenda. ”
His Excellency, Dr. Peter Mbah during the conference spent some quality time educating the people on the perks and profits defining the results-oriented ES-DIF that would set the pace for others to emulate. One of the prospects of this all-time forum is that it is designed to “mobilize capital for bankable projects, including net-zero aligned projects that can unlock the economic potential of Enugu State and South-Eastern Nigeria” while engaging in “public sessions, closed boardrooms, business – to – business meetings, entrepreneurship incubation events for start-ups, deal or no-deal type pitching sessions and a deal gallery open to potential investors.”
During the press conference, the action packed governor regaled the people with series of engaging and informative activities that would eventually culminate in the official launching of this unique ES-DIF ranging from organizing Investment Roadshows from the month of August, 2023, to meeting potential investors and project sponsors in addition to a Stakeholder Roundtable in September, 2023. The whole idea of energizing a private sector driven state economy will dovetail to informing key Stakeholders about upcoming investors’ days, to be immediately followed by a Diaspora Forum in December, 2023 in order to bring together the diaspora investing community before concluding it with Closed Boardrooms in March, 2024. Everything considered therefore, the closed boardroom sessions will close deals and mobilize institutional partners with investment interests in curated projects.
In inference, Gov. Peter Mbah noted in emphatic terms that ENUGU STATE IS OPEN FOR BUSINESS and expressed his government’s openness and readiness to welcome all potential investors and project sponsors willing to partner with his government in delivering the humongous and mind-blowing social contract he has with the good people of Enugu State in order to ensure that in the end OUR TOMORROW WILL EVENTUALLY BE HERE.
