The Executive governor of Enugu state, His Excellency.Rt. Hon. Dr. Ifeanyi Ugwuany as the leader of South East Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) called on the newly inaugurated Zonal National Working Committee of the party, in the zonal party leadership meeting, held at Government House Enugu, after their ratification of the appointments as requested by the Party’s constitution, having created a vacuum, due to the recent dissolution which has to do with the recent defection of the former party Chieftain and Governor of Ebonyi state, H.E David Nweze Umahi, who left the party for the All Progressive Party (APC).
Recall that Mr Nweze, a younger brother to the Ebonyi state governor was once the National Zonal Vice Chairman of the Party, until his brother the governor left the party which immediately calls for its dissolution by the National Executive Committee (NEC).
However, Gov. Ugwuanyi who was recently elected the Chairman of the South East governors forum which also automatically stand him for the leadership of the South East structures of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was yesterday empowered the newly appointed zonal apex of the party in Enugu, to take charge of their responsibilities, with a strong political will to bring back to the fold, the Party’s strong aggrieved members. The governor, touted the New Zonal Executives, to be strong with resilience in ensuring that the mandate of the Party at the Zonal level are maintained in high spirit, and in line with the Party’s manifestos.
Meanwhile, the National leadership of the Party is said to have been well pleased and confident with the structure of the Party Zonal leadership placed under the control of Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi. This is simply because, Gov. Ugwuanyi have been so consistent to the Party, in line with its funding as that has become very symbolic to the high level of attainments of the Party in wining both Local Governments, States and National elections, such example, was at the just concluded EDO State Governorship election, which Ugwuanyi played a prominent role at the National Campaign Council, instituted by the Party National leadership, which had Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike as the Chairman, and other PDP governors as members, and they led the party to unprecedented victory.
Gov. Ugwuanyi has remained the chief promoter of PDP in the South East Zone with much supports to the Party’s machineries. This is why PDP have not lost any elections to the party’s controlled states in the zone. Its very important and significant to note, that the Enugu state governor has demonstrated his resolve to see that every party men and women are happy under his watch at the State, Zonal and National level. The highlights of Gov. Ugwuanyi’s excellent and visionary leadership in the Party was when he brought back our founding members and placed them to their highly recognized status quo. Such people where the likes of H.E Chief Sen. Jim Ifeanyichukwu Nwobodo, the former Governor of Old Anambra state. H.E Sen. Dr. Chimaroke Nnamani, former Governor of Enugu state, and current Senator representing the good people of Enugu east senatorial districts. And many others.
Gov. Ugwuanyi is a symbol of unity in leadership and amongst party lines, he remains a bridge builder. Just few days ago, His Excellency delivered to the nation and PDP, a brand new state legislator for Enugu state house of Assembly, through the by-election conducted by the (INEC) the nation electoral umpire. This is a feat to be acknowledged by the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP). Gov. Ugwuanyi has set a record in PDP that no any other person can achieve.
Finally, it is of note that the PDP, party hierarchy, have so much entrusted the Zonal leadership and her structures to the governor, noting his unprecedented achievements and unquantifiable supports the Ugwuanyi led administration in Enugu state under PDP had given to the National leadership of the Party. That is why the structures are healthy under him, that is why, the PDP has continue to win elections in the South East of the party’s controlled state. That is why, there have been peaceful coexistence amongst politicians in the Zone and Enugu in particular, because of Gov. Ugwuanyi’s visionary and peaceful leadership dispositions. PDP is very strong under Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.
Enugu State is in the hands of God.
