One of the visible marks of Gov Ugwuanyi led administration has been the robust synergy between the Executive and other arms of government. While some other states are having it rough having to deal with the frosty relationship amongst the three arms of government on one hand, the issues of funding have been a major source of concern on the other. The Executive arm is often considered the “Father Christmas” among the trio who dispenses fund to the others as it deems fit. Although, the Legislative and the Judicial arm are supposed to present their capital and recurrent expenditures on yearly basis, the onus of releasing the approved budgetary allocations for each arm lies with the Executive branch. It is heart warming to observe that Rt. Honorable Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has been as magnanimous and a generous partner in the oiling of the tripod of government.

The Judicial arm of government in Enugu State for example have never had it so good than what it is currently enjoying with the administration of governor Ugwuanyi. Aside the physical development going on at the various courts across the state, there has been massive employment too in the sector to enhance justice delivery system. At the last count, governor Ugwuanyi has facilitated the building and renovation of about 34 new customary court buildings across the 17 local government areas of the state. This has brought the number of customary court buildings in Enugu State to a total of 150 blocks. It is gladdening to observe an aesthetically designed Customary Court of Appeal fully equipped and located in the three arms zone, Independence Layout Enugu. In addition to the customary court infrastructural development, government have also built over new 28 magistrate courts and renovated so many of the existing ones. The High courts have also received equal attention from the governor. The infrastructural development of the High Courts across the 17 local government areas has been unprecedented. There are new High Court buildings at Obollo Afor, Nsukka, Enugu Urban, Agbani and recently at Awhum in Udi Local Government Area.
It is to be noted that, governor Ugwuanyi is a leader who takes the issue of governance very seriously. As a leader who understands that the judiciary is the last hope of a common man and the downtrodden, the massive investment in the judiciary cannot be said to be a misplaced priority. His proliferation of court buildings of varied categories has been a bold step to decentralize the justice system and bring it closer to the people. Although, one might argue that the governor is inadvertently encouraging disputes or litigation among the people by embarking on the proliferation of courts across the land. But this is far from it. It is an undisputable fact that dispute among the people is inevitable. It is also true, that many parties to a dispute have had to travel far from their domain to have their disputes heard and determined in far away courts, but with the establishment of courts closer to the people, the many concerns of the people have been taken care of.

Again as noted earlier, governor Ifeanyichukwu Ugwuanyi is not just embarking on the physical development of the courts across the land, he has taken the issues of human resources development very seriously too. Aggressive training and retraining of the judicial staff to enhance better performance and the dispensation of justice has also received adequate support of the government.
In the area of staff welfare, the judicial staff have been all smiles in Enugu State. Judges of different categories have been provided with good logistics to boost their productivity. It is on record that the Judiciary Staff Union Of Nigeria (JUSUN), Enugu State branch was almost in a state of dilemma when the national council called out a strike action few months back to press for true independence of the Judiciary in the area of funding. Enugu state branch was hamstrung to join the strike action because the government of Ugwuanyi has always taken care of the Judiciary in Enugu State in the area of funding via budgetary allocations.
Governor Ugwuanyi is a leader we trust.
Enugu state is truly in the safe hands of God.
