Rapid investiment in agriculture is a prototype to ensuring food security in any authorized and constituted nation. The administration of H.E, governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, since inception has continue to keep the farmers busy with lots of agricultural incentives, subsidized loans and free grant. This is in a bid to quickly diversify the state economy by promptly paying a deserved attentions to crop productions.
It is important we remember the last year 2020, H.E sought and secured several modern mechanical equipments for seasonal farming across the 17 LGAs of the state. To ensure a speedy path of agricultural revolutionary in the state, has equally procured and distributed farm seedlings to farmers, also cut across the 472 communities in the state. As if that was not enough, the government of Enugu state under the current administration of Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, has recently engaged federal government of Nigeria through a certified CBN non interest rate loan and grant for the people of Enugu state to massively go into the farming season with enough resources enabled by the government. Part of this arrangement was the just concluded agricultural skilled training, held in the state college of agriculture Iwollo, Ezeagu local government.
Gov. Ugwuanyi has not just only successfully engaged our farmers with the modern technological kno -how, he has equally provided enough platforms to alleviating poverty rate of the state through this grants and other skilled acquisitions lucrative programmes initiated by the office of the Special Adviser on SMEs Enugu. The age long youths restiveness and joblessness has been drastically addressed by the administration of H.E ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, through his agricultural state revolution. The state now has a new brand of Enugu rice in Uzo Uwani through the government’s untiring efforts to address food shortage and hunger.
Therefore, the economic of the Ugwuanyi’s facilitated federal government grants to farmers if properly utilized for its purpose by the farmers would drastically change the narrative and position the state for food exports in the nearest future. This singular act can only be seen in a man who is passionately moved to change the living condition of his people. Invariably, Enugu is ranked as the most peaceful state in the entire nation by many heads of the federal security agencies who has chosen the state as their leisure place of rest and tourism due to the high rate of security enhancement propelled by this visionary administration, hence our newly engaged farmers are expected to make good use of this great opportunity and exploits our farms in a bid to boost food security.
Let me also reiterate to the people of the state that governor Ugwuanyi has not relented in his capacity to diversify the economy through agriculture, is equally in touch with the relevant agencies especially that of the federal ministry of humanitarian affairs and social development, paid a counterpart funding to enable the state access the programs of the federal government through School Home Grown Feeding, Cash Transfer, N-Power and enterprise empowerment scheme. Its of note that Enugu state has become the first state in the southeast to engage the federal government in its efforts in lunching the programs for Ndi Enugu. This program when kick started for its second phase, will go a long way into the life of our pupils and citizenry, especially those learning trades and skill acquisition programs.
Gov. Ugwuanyi is a leader who never takes back position when participating and linking Enugu to federal government programs. Ndi Enugu must therefore continue to thank God for his administrations efforts in bringing good governance to them, even when there is a financial crisis affecting the nation’s GDP which if not properly guided may lead Nigeria into another phase of recession. Gov. Ugwuanyi is an exceptional leader of note.
