Housing development in Enugu state is a growing effort of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi to close the massive gap between house supply and demand through social housing initiatives. His administration has since proven it’s determintion to solve the problem of shortage of affordable houses in the State. This resolve has translated into the building of a large number of houses and estates both in Urban and rural areas.
Today, the Coal City View Satellite Estate specifically meant for the State’s Civil Servants is one of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi’s giant strides towards bridging the gap between the demand and supply of housing facilities to help ameliorate the suffering of the people. The Synergy existing in the team of Ugwuanyi has ensured that his visions for Enugu State is well translated into a physical reality. His visions therefore in the housing sector drove him to source for another competent technocrat. Today, the collaboration of the state government and the Enugu State Housing Development Corporation (ESHDC) under the headship of Hon. Chukwuemelie Agu to provide affordable and clean housing facilities for the people appears to be a synergy that exists in the heavenly plains.
The government in collaboration with Enugu State Housing Development Corporation and other private ventures have recently signed a contract to make over 750 housing units comprising one room, two bedroom and three bed bongalows available for Civil Servants in Enugu State. The envisioned estates would on completion be provided with neccessary infrastructures to alleviate the problems of the dwellers and further increase their living standards.
To ensure that the project is carried in accordance with spelt out standards, the Governor along side the Managing Director, Enugu State Housing Development Corporation, Hon. Chukwuemelie Agu and their counterparts on Friday 25th June 2021, went for inspection of the site to ascertain the level of the ongoing work and the site Engineers adherence to extant building plans. This unarguably, will Fast Track the work schedules and timely completion of the project.
This Estate when completed will help in no small measure to solve the problem of housing deficit in the state and ensure that citizens dwell in an atmosphere fit for robust and healthy lifestyle and economic activities. The Estate project will no doubt stimulate humongous direct and indirect employment and other economic activities that would improve the economic conditions of the people. Kudos to the visionary leadership of Rt.Hon.Ifeanyi Lawrence Ugwuanyi.
