The process of developing human being demands the creation of an enabling environments in which people can learn new things in business, corporate settings and skills. With this, people can apply Innovations, competencies, develop their skills and attitude that required tremendous changes in their business world. There is no doubt that the Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi led administration has shown tremendous capacity to innovate the Talent Management of young inspired youths of Enugu State who are doing well in their various political and non political positions.
It is instructive to note that the current administration has never hidden its consideration for human resources development as a panacea to harnessing and building sustainable potentials in the state.
In other to achieve greater feat in human resources development, the administration advanced the following tools:
¶ Training:
The administration has trained several youths in different skills in the State. Many youths of the State are beneficiaries of this training and some of them are doing well in their chosen carrier after the training. Notable of such training is the ongoing training of 1000 youths of the State in automobile industry and the recent skills acquisition organized by the Ministry of Youths and Sports were start up materials were made available to them.
¶ Coaching and Consulting:
The current administration through her various agencies has made emphasis on meeting the needs of the people by coaching them on how to start up their own businesses. This is the reason Enugu State SME hub center began a State tour to sensitize the people on the imperative of building and nurturing their dream businesses. It is through the innovative ideas of Hon. Arinze Chilo-Offiah that studentpreneurship came in our existential history. The agency initiated programs to encourage the students to engage in one business or the other by offering them soft loans to enable them gradually build up their dream business while in school and enlarge their coast after graduation. This initiative has tendency for reducing unemployment and over dependency on the government in job creation. The recent tour of the agency to Local government areas in the State shows the administration’s resolve to improve the human capacity base of the state.
The current administration has studied the benefits of the knowledge economy and has strategically planned to position the internal productive resources in other to thrive successfully in the global knowledge economy.
The tremendous awareness on knowledge economy has constantly opposed the traditional approaches to production which is fast changing the nature of economic exchange everywhere in the world hence the necessity for building human being through training and other methods. Today, the current administration mastered the global trends in production using knowledge economy and its training and coaching of her citizens has widened the scope of knowledge in goods and services which has ensured economic growth and success.
Human capital is the engine for economic growth and success of any government on its ability to develop, organize and use its human capital. The Ugwuanyi administration has done well in human resources development and still doing so through her various ministries and agencies of the government.
Enugu state remains firmly in the hands of God.
