GOVERNOR UGWUANYI: HIS SIMPLICITY, HUMILITY AND LOVE FOR ENUGU INDULGENCES
In Africa, Governors, Presidents are seen as human with extra-ordinary abilities – power, authority and lots more. They are to be respected and possibly feared as they are not only unique, but have fought several mega ‘battles’ and emerged victorious.
The Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria gave these executive elected positions immunity. This exempts or shields them from any form of litigation. So one can safely say, their arrogance does not exist in vacuum since some of them believes they are constitutionally allowed to be become a demi-god.
To say the least, some governors because of the enormity of power and influence they wield, are deified.
The above liberty for those in the position, as human they are, makes them see themselves as super human. Their freedom from challenges, security and access to all their desire makes them feel satisfied.
However, there are men of honour among the many honoured men in the mist of those shielded with immunity. These men of honour are very few and exceptional. You can only find such men among those who are divinely mandated to occupy such an exalted position.
The Governor of Enugu State, Gov Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, falls in this category of men with succour, empathy, humility and meekness engrained in his DNA. He has severally shown evidence of being mandated by God to transform Enugu State because only the divinely powered can deploy such matchless capacity in delivery good governance to his people while remaining humble.
Some night, after engaging with major functions in the day which led to the night. Many were seen driving to their different homes to have their rest but Governor Ugwuanyi was seen at different places giving instructions to security agencies to ensure that peace and unity remain stable
To the amazement of many onlookers, motorists, and commuters, the governor didn’t defy traffic, rather, he stood by the roadside and waved cheerfully with the galaxy of supporters of his people centred programs and policies he has enthroned in the state. His presence illuminated the whole arena.
It is indeed a thing worthy of emulation and the memory of seeing the governor in the night especially those in the street will forever remain inerasable. It unarguably conveys the feeling that the governor has the feelings of the people at heart.
At his political vantage position, governor ugwuanyi has seen his position as God given which has made him to maintained accessibility, meekness and matchless humility.
Many deify their governors, but here Enugu State, we have a governor who opens his door for Enugu indigenes. This has indeed paid off because through this accessibility, undiluted feelings and wishes of the people get to him from the people themselves.
Enugu state is blessed with the gift of governor – a rare breed of a kind –Gov Ugwuanyi.
We can’t wish for a better thing, than his elevation to a high assignment.
