There is no denying the fact that our existential history have always brought a man ahead of his time to use his innovative ideas to lead his people to the Promised Land. Enugu State had been long searching for a scholar in this enlightenment era who will be true, sincere, honest and God fearing and luckily, Ndi Enugu found one in the person of His Excellency, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.
Since the inauguration of Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi as the incumbent governor, his accomplishments in office have been truly overwhelming. This is not conjectural, because some of the projects he executed are there in black and white to speak for him. They are capable of convincing even the most pessimistic of persons especially in the education sector about the new developments in education.
The realization that education is key to unlocking human potentials have rather gingered the administration of Ugwuanyi to reposition the education sector for the good of the people.
Since the appointment of Chief Ikeje Asogwa as the Executive Chairman of ENSUBEB, he had continued to translate Ugwuanyi’s agenda for the provision of quality and affordable education for all children. The awareness creation of girl child education had an achievement driven result which has reduced the number of out of school girl child in the State. Enugu State becoming the lowest in Nigeria.
It is instructive to note that Chief Ikeje Asogwa through his far reaching innovative ideas have been able to restore the lost glory of our public schools in the State. As an astute technocrat, he has been able to restructure our education system for the better, renovated and constructed over 1000 classroom blocks across the State. As a firm believer in scientific breakthroughs as a catalyst for accelerated socio-political and economic development, governor Ugwuanyi led administration further procured scientific research equipments which was distributed to all secondary schools in the State to enhance teaching and learning. To achieve the set goals of the current administration towards education in the State, he recruited over 3,000 qualified secondary School teachers. He also distributed teaching aids to our secondary schools aimed at providing conducive environment for teaching and learning to take place. Our public schools are competing with the best private schools in the State courtesy of the current administration and we believe that sooner, more innovative ideas will find root in our basic education training.
Ugwuanyi had demonstrated genuine commitment to basic education and development of the girl child in the State.
