“Do not ask for me whom the bell tolls; it tolls for me and thee”. John Donne

If you’re eyes and hearts are not amenably thrilled positive or the contrary by the grand display of opulence in the now trending “national” burial of Obi Cubana’s mother, in Oba Idemili Anambra State, then you may not be inches away from visiting optical homes.
The very burial morphed into extemporaneous carnival or conference of the stars of Igbo land has after the events stoked mixed feelings, malice, envy; admiration and inspiration from distinct circles with some persons throwing up dingy unfounded claims flying on social media in a bid to bespatter with a paintbrush of negativity all that transpired pre and post burial, absconding from the substratum of the massive solidarity by countless persons unremorsefully trumpeting Obi’s large heartedness. And how the latter wrestled them off the pangs of penury.

Obi Cubana is a very reserved billionaire business magnate, a tycoon of unparalleled philanthropy as they mouthed, a fact unquestioned by even this traders of indictment and envy.
Admittedly, Great minds rarely hammer the drums, they reluctantly allow the products of their human investment bear out the testimony. Until, his mother’s internment Obi has never been in the news for any reason, just like Governor Ugwuanyi, he was mute on the media limelights but vigorously and consistently changing the lives of people far and near for the better. So, there’s no hard and fast rule that the graduands of his avowed big heart plucked their silent achiever boss out to national glare, not that he hungers for it but to show gratitude.

Notwithstanding the ongoing recrimination and onslaught against such abuse of and assault on mint raw cash prosecuted in the court of public opinion, even a handful of unsolicited volunteers have launched into non-commissioned enquiry into his source of wealth, the truth stands immutable and tall that human investment pays off as evidenced by the Oba events.

To invest in people, one needs not be robed in any political cloak or having trillions suffocating nay garland one’s economic data, little is invaluable in the instant case.
As quite a plethora of the burial’s short video clips rented available social media spaces, anyone with a historical familiarization of Governor Ugwuanyi’s philanthropic humble beginnings would roil in happiness that we have our own Cubana version of greater magnitude.
Ugwuanyi began empowering his people earlier before hopping the train of politics, a tool which he has leveraged on sufficiently to utter the economic sad tale of innumerable persons across the State.
In the instance of politics, Governor Ugwuanyi through the Sustainable Development Goals (SGDs) and Small and Medium Entreprise(SME) fashioned to drill youths in varieties of skills and handiworks as well as offering soft loans a start up grant has churned out in thousandfold equipped youthful generations to create their own story.
The words of the SDGs graduands President, Miss Aboh Tochi resonate with the truth aforestated, that ” The saying, don’t give one fish, rather teach one how to catch fish has been manifested evidently in our lives….With the skills we have acquired we can keep ourselves busy with handiworks without waiting for handout. My Governor, we are proud to say that with your support we are now proud fishermen.”

Unfazed by distressed economy, Ugwuanyi invaded the market with traders empowerment raffle draw in his pocket and near 120million divorced from state purse to get round the business capital saving exercise. Genuine Report has it that at least 200 traders wins a whooping 10million every month as the program endures. This program no doubt has contributed hugely to the economic development of the state and poverty reduction rates especially in the rural areas as market buzzing and business got strengthen by cash inflow to support trading.

Again, in the field of politics, Governor Ugwuanyi triples Cubana given his uncommon rapport and inflexible beliefs in social and political equilibrium amongst all devoid of party colours and background as rightly encapsulated by the brainiac Sam Ugwuozor in his work ” Leadership and the common Good” that
” It is important to note that poverty cannot be eradicated,it can only be alleviated using strategic tools such as education, income, distribution, providing infrastructure, provision of health facilities, food and water, provision of skills development of agriculture and helping farmers to grow, empowering women, employment, micro loans, economic and political participation of the poor, development aid, management of communal conflicts.”

Dismantling every culture fueling political and opportunity disequilibrium has been a task this government achieved with relative ease, lifting the plank which have scared into years of passiveness our youth from political participation. With the Youth O’clock inniative waxing stronger as day ablaze, hundreds of youths have been afforded the paddle to circumnavigate to affluence.

Imparting on the lives of people as proved by the trending burial is the most noble and rewarding entreprise and investiture anyone can plunder.
It is a Gburugburu culture that our niggard- fond politicians should imbibe to right the wrongs of their “me” miserliness.
