Underreporting or rather poor media coverage of government’s achievements is an invisible cankerworm that has affected many leaders especially those that have performed creditably. To some, it had affected negatively their future political ambitions while some had faced abysmal rejection in the hands of their subjects/constituents. Such limited information has often turned competent leaders as underdogs while it elevated incompetent leaders unduly. While good leaders might want to remain focused in delivering their mandate without much ado at publicity, incompetent leaders have often engaged in propaganda machinery to cover their deficiency in government.
Under-reportage/poor media coverage leaves performing government at the mercy of political opportunists, detractors and mischief makers who unleash their attack swords whenever there is a noticeable slip in governance. For this reason, there is need for Gov. Ugwuanyi’s administration to evolve result oriented ways and platforms to communicate the good performances of his government to the people of Enugu State.

In this contemporary time, people now appear unconcerned about what is happening around them but would be cocooned to swallow all sorts of misinformation. This sort of laziness and lackadaisical attitude observed among some people can be attributed to frequent use of internet supported mobile phones and other information transmission gadgets.

That Ugwuanyi led administration has performed well and still does is stating the obvious. It is therefore important that his government should beef up its media coverage capacity by engaging competent and unbiased media team to propagate it’s good and remarkable achievements. The government of Ugwuanyi should as a matter of priority, have an information based platform that would capture various programme, including policy formulation and it’s execution.

In area of road construction for instance, Inyi-Akpugoeze road, a road constructed and asphalted by the Administration of Gov.Ugwuanyi had been rarely seen or brought in the public domain. It would interest you to know that, some people of the benefiting community/council area barely, know who the benevolent builder is. The same scenario has remained largely a common phenomenon around the city for the simple reason that governor Ugwuanyi chose to do his things without much of blowing his own trumpet. Ugwuanyi is an embodiment of humility in all ramifications.

Governor Ugwuanyi has done much both in judicial and agricultural sector reforms. These strides have remained largely unreported. For instance, in the agricultural sector, the under listed improvements, were minimally reported in the media:
¶ Establishment of prototype rice seeder.
¶ manual fertilizer broadcaster, rolling/jab planter, improved weeding hoe, cassava lifter, knapsack sprayers for rice farmers.
¶ Sourcing of Seeds/Fruits of Gmelina arborea and Tectona grands.
¶ Raising of 18,000 Seedlings at Iva valley forest.
¶ Enrichment planting of forest tree seedlings in existing forest reserves(18 Hectares) in Umualor and Akpakwume/Nze.
¶ Construction of Efi Igbo Development Cluster and Rehabilitation of office building, skills centers and agro-input warehouses in the six zones across the state. To mention but these.

In the aspect of education reforms, how many persons is in the know of the ongoing construction at the permanent site of Iwollo Polytechnic, Ezeagu?
When have you listened to people discuss the ongoing construction at the new site of Enugu State University of Education, Awgu?
Apart from the students of IMT/ESUT and some residents who frequently use Campus 3 road as their major itinerary an average Nsukka or Awgu person is not aware of the unprecedented face-lift, the reformed IMT is currently enjoying, hence the need to bring to bare, the glaring and enduring legacies, Gov. Ugwuanyi had implanted across the State and beyond.

Bibian Anekwe News.. added… A little more persistence a little more effort, and what seemed hopeless failure may turn into a glorious success.
