In recognition of the uncommon courage and strategy exhibited by the people’s governor, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Lawrence Ugwuanyi leading to the peaceful process which produced Peoples Democratic Party flag bearers across the 17 local government area of Enugu State for the scheduled oncoming local government elections, we members of the Greater Agwu Youth General Assembly hereby express our deepest appreciation to His Excellency.
The Greater Agwu Youth General Assembly is not only satisfied with the conduct of our Governor, but wish to thank him for continuously matching his words with action and had once again fielded youthful, young, vibrant, competent and potential LGA bosses who will slug it out with other opponents from other political parties when the bell is rung.
Our group is emphatic that all the consensus PDP Chairmanship as well as the Councillorship candidates from Greater Awgu land remains our best shots.
It is on record that Enugu State remains the most peaceful, safest and economically viable state in Nigeria. This isn’t magic but can only be attributed to the uncommon, pragmatic and quintessential leadership style of the Executive Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency Rt. Hon. Dr. Lawrence Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi the leader of the party in the state and the South Eastern region.
As common and obtainable in other states and climes in Nigeria, events leading to any election is always filled with rancour and rift but Enugu State under the leadership of Rt. Hon. Dr. Lawrence Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi remains different which is the hallmark of its peace, equity, fairness and justice. Democracy is all about allowing people’s voices and opinions to count in the governance of their society which was what clearly played out while the process leading to the successful election of the party’s flag bearers in the scheduled election lasted.
One thing remains clear in all of these processes and that is that the will and wish of the people prevailed, the people and party stakeholders involvement/public opinion were given the highest of regards, this laced with equity, fairness, justice, peace, dialogue and democracy in all wards and councils in Enugu State devoid of nepotism and godfatherism.
His Excellency Rt. Hon. Dr. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has always been at the forefront in the belief of youths as the leaders of tomorrow, this he has proven countless times by giving us his soft shoulders to lean on and his wings to soar and thrive. This he has once again demonstrated by listening to the yearnings of the people and giving us our best shots to fly the party flag in Greater Awgu Land and indeed Enugu State through the consensus PDP Council Chairmanship/Councillorship candidates. These are candidates who are youthful, young, capable, vibrant with proven track records and most importantly are connected to the grassroot and can feel their pulse.
His Excellency Rt. Hon. Lawrence Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi remains the progenitor of the youth in Nigeria political space for he has continually given young persons in Enugu State platforms to excel, be part of the policy making of the state and show their leadership prowess. His Excellency remains concerned of truly building the future leaders of Enugu state. For this, the youths are so lucky to find a worthy father and leader who is poised at mentoring and training the youths to excel in leadership.
We are saying thank you to His Excellency Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for giving us some of our best, vibrant, articulate, dogged and forward thinking youths in Enugu state.
